I grew up with Pritt's daughter, the house is truly amazing when your inside. They do live up in Washington almost fulltime but fly down every other weekend. I heard through the grapevine that Mr. TRUMP himself bought or is thinking about buying the house. But we'll see...

Theoretically, you could consider The Octopus and Rising Sun giant floating palaces, so at USD $200 million + for each, they're the largest and most expensive 'homes' of US citizens.

Whoever thinks that a 400k$ home is plenty should try to buy a home around where I live lol. A house with no driveway that is next to a drug dealer infested appartment goes for 500k. In NY, you have to move all the way upstate if you want a nice home for around 630K.

I drove a by a Castle a while back near Lexington KY which a guy built it for his wife but they ended up divorcing in the end. I heard it burnt down recently but I didn't know if it was ever rebuilt or not. I can't find any pics of it at all.

Edit: Nevermind I found it. It's called the Martin Castle. It's cheap in a way for 3.5 million and 200 acres of land surrounding it which is just grass and mostly flat. http://www.dupontcastle.com/castles/martin.htm. It was for sale a LONG time ago but it recently burnt down. They are planning to build it back up again.

It was me, and it was my opinion, the jist of what I said was, there are tons of places where you can find an awesome home for 400K, they just won't be in South Beach, South Bay, or places like that. And just to be clear - it is my opinion.

Maranello Guy - I like that house, but it's out of my range.

Always been curious about Monaco, any chance of France taking it "over" with Prince Albert's situation of new kids popping up?

Also, isn't Monaco a pretty crappy place to live, or is the quality of life good, assuming you traveled often (considering most of the foreigners living in Monaco are businessmen/athletes who likely are jet-setting).

meh.. it seems about right. I recently closed on a duplex condo in monaco (around 18 million euro) - its a 4 br, view terrace, fairly large, but location has most to do with its price.

You closed on it as a buyer or agent? First one would be pretty sweet. I've heard rumors of Monaco growing through building land in the sea (man-made islands). I remember reading a 6,500-square foot villa asking for $48-$50 million (US).

Update: Was at a party the other night with the daughter I used to date and she said no one has come close to being serious about buying. They are going to hold onto it for awhile I believe. I hadn't been to the house in some time until going again tonight, and wow. It's hard to believe your in a house...

That $75 million house has an incredible location but I dont like the house itself that much. An ocean front acre in Corona Del Mar is just insane. If I had crazy money to buy a house I would probably buy something like http://www.hiltonhyland.com/address.php?property_ID=530 or http://www.hiltonhyland.com/address.php?property_ID=518 or http://www.realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListing.asp?snum=1&locallnk=yes&frm=bymap&mnbed=0&mnbath=0&mnprice=8000000&mxprice=99999999&js=off&pgnum=1&fid=so&stype=&mnsqft=&mls=xmls&areaid=57783&poe=realtor&ct=Laguna+Niguel&st=CA&sbint=&vtsort=&sorttype=&typ=1&x=18&y=8&sid=0861C01AF228C&snumxlid=1079017894&lnksrc=00002 http://www.realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListing.asp?snum=7&mlsttl=&frm=bymap&pgnum=1&mls=xmls&js=on&target=&ct=Los+Angeles&st=CA&sbint=&sbls=&sblo=&stype=&areaid=1557&fid=so&vtsort=&mnsqft=&mnprice=10000000&mxprice=99999999&mnbed=0&mnbath=0&typ=1&poe=realtor&x=21&y=4&sid=0861C0D3ED70C&snumxlid=1079139712&lnksrc=00002

I like the views on this one even tho there are no pics of the house http://www.realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListing.asp?snum=1&locallnk=yes&frm=bymap&mnbed=0&mnbath=0&mnprice=6000000&mxprice=99999999&js=off&pgnum=1&fid=so&stype=&mnsqft=&mls=xmls&areaid=1557&poe=realtor&ct=Los+Angeles&st=CA&sbint=&vtsort=&sorttype=&typ=1&x=50&y=13&sid=0861C1ABCEA2C&snumxlid=1072169921&lnksrc=00002

Weird to me that it's not a private street either. A well known Billionaire lives next door, I went to school with the daughter. And not to mention the security guards who are there 24/7. The little guard HQ facing the street is pretty cool.

Jackie Treehorns place!! I love that house too! I found one on californiacoastline.org that I thought may have been it by I couldn't be sure. Wilt Chamberlain had a house that was very similar, but not in Malibu.

The Sheats-Goldstein house, by John Lautner. Awesome place, check out his other work that is just as remarkable.

Any idea who the architect on the $75 million house is - I'm a big John Lautner fan, and the roof structure seems pretty similar to some of his work - particularly Segel House (currently owned by Courtney Cox/for sale for $33.5 million) and Beyer House in Malibu. Although I'm sure it is not one of Lautner's works, I'd bet the architect was inspired by some of Lautner's work.

Sheats-Goldstein also used in Snoop Dogg's Lets get blown video. A full list of Lautner's work in TV/movies can be seen here:
