I have watched a few youtube reviews of the 612 recently that, while generally positive, go out of their way to attach an "ugly" label. One reviewer went so far as to compare it to a Ford Mondeo and claim it hit every branch on the ugly tree as it fell to earth.

    I don't get it.

The more I look at the 612, the more it intrigues. It has viewing angles that surprise, sinuous curves that flatter, and details that speak wind tunnel rather than CFD design.

Playing with cell phone photography is a passion of mine and as such my 612 is well photographed from all angles and in many settings, both plain and beautiful.

    One of my current favorites...

For a 20 year old design, she still looks relevant and fresh.

Of course I am biased but I love this car

When it comes from reviewers/writers, I think it is primarily driven by jealousy. In other cases, some people have absolutely no sense of style. :)

I bought my 612 because it was the most beautiful street Ferrari I had ever seen. In other words, I am not biased. I put my money down because the design was so attractive. Still is. The trouble with YouTube reviewers is that they generally have an agenda beyond the subject matter of their comments. In my experience, people pull up to me in parking lots, and without knowing what kind of car is is (mine has few markings), they exclaim what a beautiful car it is. If they know that it's a Ferrari, they will compliment it further. I am baffled by people who want to pull this car down. I don't want to make comparisons to specific Ferrari models, but it is a tremendous testament to the talents of the Pininfarina shop.

About five years ago I went shopping for a 599. I saw several but not just like I wanted.
When I was in Naples, FL , I saw my first 612 and bought in on the spot.
I thought then that it is the best looking road car I had ever seen and still do.
My HGT2 OTO is the best street car I have ever driven.

    yes, I am biased!

I recently drove a 612, I looked at it from all angles and it is an absolute beauty. The front is gorgeous, the rear end is gorgeous, the profile is nice. I looove the design. This is a classy and timeless automobile

How can anyone call this ugly? I think the smiling nose and accentuated light arches will age well and continue to look like a modern take on vintage Ferrari design language. If one looks at the 50's and 60's cars, the 612 fits rather well.

I've always been attracted to the 612, at the time I was shopping cars I found my 599 in the spec I was looking for so I bought it. If I lived in a warm climate I think the 612 would make a great DD.

612 - Renaissance Man or Ugly Duckling? Well, I think we all know the answer to that one! But I think the bigger question is: What does the 612 say about us? Let's face it, the 612 is not an inexpensive car. For the price of a 612, we could have chosen any number of really fantastic cars that are out there. For me it's simple. The 612 says "There goes a man who appreciates a fine automobile". So that's what it is to me...an elegant, understated, fine automobile with real pedigree. Renaissance Man or Ugly Duckling? Definitely Renaissance Man! Those who choose "Ugly Duckling" are missing the point.

I love the fender peaks continuing thru the headlights and swooping down into the grille.

    Never gets old.

I would also add that I was drawn to the 599 because of the chain drive cams as opposed to the belts. After living with a belt driven Ferrari for six years I was ready for something more reliable in that department. All Ferraris have issues, I was ready for a new set of problems.

I think like many cars from this era, it’s starting to look better and better. Back in the day though, even LDM made a few unfavourable comments about the appearance of the 612, asking why it wasn’t as pretty as the cars at Jaguar.

I think it’s a car that benefits from a touch lower stance, and looks infinitely better with the challenge wheels. Really just the headlights that date it these days.

Before I owned multiple super cars and exotics, I thought reviewers knew something. After owning and actually living with the cars, I realized most of them don’t know anything.

Choosing to spend money on buying and driving a 612 says a lot about a persons taste. It’s THE gentleman’s Ferrari. Most YouTubers are too young to have taste anyway.

I do think the 612 could benefit from having a hood scoop. That might look nice.

The 612 Scaglietti is absolutely brilliant. Beautiful 2+2, elegant, unique proportions with the hood that drops lower at the front. The way that the continuous bonnet line, which runs along the edge of the headlights, turns into the start of the grille lines just below, is very well designed. It faithfully reflects the classic lines of the vintage Ferrari V12s.

I saw a silver and black 612 parked on the street in Paris and thought it was strikingly pretty and (as other have already said here) that it managed to be both unapologetically modern while also connecting to its design heritage without being cloyingly "retro."

It's very understated -- and in the current age its easy to forget that many of the 50s and 60s Ferraris are actually very clean, sleek, elegant designs. They don't grab you by the lapels and say, "Look at me!" When a car's worth a few million bucks it's easy to lose sight of this.

I love some of the cars that do grab you by the lapels -- the F40 and Testarossa come to mind. But I love the understated cars even more, and the 612 is for sure one of them.
