I finally got the chance to take the 458 out on a closed road course and make a couple of test passes. I had it set in Race mode, shifting in Auto mode.

According to the vbox datalogger, my 60 - 130 mph time is about 9.5 seconds. I see folks out there doing the same in under 8 seconds. They claim the car is factory stock.

    Here is an example:

That stock 2011 Italia posted a 7.74 second run. What times are you guys seeing?

Never tried. Yours sounds about right. 0-60 in 3.2, 60-130 in 8 ... makes for an 11 sec 1/4 mile @130

I wish it was 8 sec. Mine does it in 9.5, which seems awfully slow. Maybe I should try turning off traction control and shifting it manually.

Of course. Race mode - slow, auto shifting - slow.

    Normal time near 8 sec.
If you are not sure in your driving skills, go in Launch Control mode.

As Ive said before his cars seem to always post faster times, take it for what it is.

I believe traction control is done via wheel braking.

Auto mode is a waste of time. It's a manual gearbox with hydraulic paddle actuation - just drive it like any normal manual transmission and you'll probably have much better luck.

Check your tire pressure also. If the PSI is too low, that will potentially impact things as well. I usually had good luck running mine 30.5 PSI front & 29.0 PSI rear.

Can't answer for times, but I say you would need to have all modes off, for best time. Turn that dial on wheel all the way to the right! I'd also try shifting manually.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it a try the next time I'm out at the track. Traction control off and shifting manually might do the trick.
