Someone told me recently that the 599XX style wings which were fitted pre-Evo to the rear flying buttresses are available as a factory supplied accessory. Can anyone confirm this?

There was one other car (don't remember, asian?) in the 599 section with those wings.

    Ces,

You can get them as part of the Track Use Aerokit for the 599 GTO. This kit exists in 2 configurations:

Configuration 1: For fast tracks (top speed > 220 km/h).
Configuration 2: For slow tracks (Op speed not exceeding 220 km/h)

    Config 1 includes:

    a) GTO redisgned front spoiler P/N 070002370
    b) GTO pillar kit (XX wings): P/N 070002373

Can be used on high speed tracks also.

    Config 2 includes:

All of Config 1 + GTO aerokit rear lid with integrated spoiler: P/N 070002371

Note: Using this configuration on high speed tracks will cause reduced stability, understeer and slower speeds in straights.

Additional note: None of the kits are homologated for use on the street (track only).

Price for Config 2 (no installed and non painted was € 10k excl VAT).

Looking at all the pro's (but a lot of cons) and how it looks, I've decided to stay away from it.

    Cheers,

    M

Thanks M - ridiculous to put track-only aero kit on a road car!

Anyway, those wings look better on the xx - the aero package is much more aggressive on that car. I am happy just the way my GTO is. The best mod I have seen though, on this forum, is the xx type front fenders done by Zanessi complete with the air outlets!

Also Peter's (ChalStrad) xx mirrors - but use those in London and they'll be whacked off in 5 mins by a passing van!

Do you know btw that the 458 Challenge track lap time is roughly the same as the 599xx?

Technically it's a GTB with several mods, I've just sent him the video so he can see how does it fits on a 599, esthetically the car in the video is not so far from a GTO.

M was good enough to give me a heads up on these packages last Dec. and I seriously considered having it done to my GTO even though the kits are not even offered in the USA.........Europe Only...... I was going to have the parts shipped and then installed by my dealer. In the end, I also gave it a pass. after all, you don't mess with perfection:)>)!

Besides...... While adding an aero package may be a relatively simple procedure. Dealing with unknown variables while tracking a GTO at high speeds can be a receipe for disaster.

Very interesting information, never knew about this kit. Down here I am quite sure it could be used on the road, depending how low the front spoiler is. But as Speedracer mentions, trying new variables in a GTO at high speeds on the track is probably not the best of ideas.

    I don't think so:

That implies front bumper, wings and rear wing for 10K...Almost cheap for ferrari's prices!

10k for the rear lid, front lip and winglettes for 10k? That is 'cheap'...

Totally agree with you and that's why I decided to pass on it. After all, I have my 458 Challenge if I want to push for lap times ;) Yes, I'm very much aware that the 458C laps at about the same pace as the 599 XX does. At Spa my lap times are about the same as the 599 XX. Haven't compared with the 599 XX evo times yet.

    Agree 100%.

€ 9,030.25 excluding VAT to be exact and that is for P/N 70002525 (front spoiler and XX winglets). Mind you: Non installed and non painted. I didn't get any pricing on the rear lid.

Andrew, I called my dealer this morning, I am hoping the US prices are close to $10,000, if so, I have to have them, but I suspect it will be closer to $15,000.

He did not have anything on the Areo kit so he is calling Ferrari...

    I will let you know!
