2010 Ferrari 599XX For Sale - duPont REGISTRY Looks like I'll be playing the lottery this week fellas. Please wish me luck.
599XX Evo #77 is for sale in the Netherlands by Munsterhuis FERRARI 599 XX Evolution Pack ~Munsterhuis~ - Munsterhuis Sportscars 925k / 5800 km
You don't see the point of owning a dedicated track car rather than trashing your fast road car around a track ?
Have you ever been on track? If so, have you been on track in both a street car and a dedicated race car? You'd see the point.
I admit I lack in this and I trust your experience. nevermind my post. edit : do u think the owner is upgrading to a LaFXX ?
Does anybody know how many 599XXs still remains without the Evo upgrade kit? I think there are two of them and i find it very beautiful. I prefer them without the Evo kit.
Uh, what? That is a ridiculous claim. There are more. If anyone is seriously interested in the car listed, send me a PM. FWIW all FXX K are sold out, and upgrading is not the reason for the sale. After FXX K was unveiled there has been a wave of new interest for older XX machinery.
My standard reference track is Laguna Seca. I believe the F12 has run 1:38 there with a professional behind the wheel. The 599XXs are coming to Laguna this October, and if they run slower than 1:30 I will eat my hat. 8 seconds / lap difference on a 90 second track is gargantuan.
You are absolutely correct BUT ONLY IF YOU DRIVE THE XX AND I DRIVE THE F12...otherwise that is a simple pipe dream!!
I think your hat might be safe....that is...depending on whom is behind the wheel. Last year at Laguna, the Saturday Q1 sessions show you'd have to go to P20 to get as slow as a 1:30. We have seen high :25's in private testing, even race pace is :28-:29 with well scrubbed tires and a heavy fuel load... Agree on your point of the 8 second delta being gargantuan. Forza Ferrari
Not even close. That said, I agree they aren't worth the money assuming your goal is merely having a very fast race car. You can accomplish that with far less money, have a faster car, and actually race it in real races. The 599XX is more about the XX program than the cars themselves. Cool cars, but that's not really what you're paying for.
The F12's 1:38 was set by a pro, so a like for like comparison would involve putting someone like Thomas Kemenator behind the wheel. Perhaps we'll do that with our 599XX when we visit Laguna... You know, purely for scientific purposes. The one I am curious about now is the FXXK to 599XX gap...
Don't forget a key point here Ben. A road car on a race track - no matter how good is always going to be a compromise and a single quick lap time is not going to be repeatable again and again as the car will run out of tyres / grip and brakes fairly quickly. As you know, and as do I, in an XX you can bang in lap times until for quite a while and keep improving!!! So in any event, you can't compare apples and oranges....
Ahh, aesthetics are one thing, but when you put an Evo next to a non Evo, the original looks sheepish and outdated. But when you get behind the wheel then the Evo is a completely different animal. Much better in every department.
What you are paying for is the privilege of driving a racing car that is free from any form of regulation and therefore has innovative systems on board and in a very clear way participating in the evolution of the product. I race a 458 GT2 and have won a major international endurance championship in a 458 GT3 and both these cars are limited by regulation and the moving target that is the BoP. A 458 GTE in WEC trim has some 100 bhp less than a 458 Speciale..... Yes being part of the Corse Clienti programmes is also a unique experience .... the two solutions are actually very complimentary.. The big difference is also that your XX maintains a certain resale value while your GTE/GT3 is another story....
A very good point, Peter. There is also setup and safety to consider. I took our 458 Speciale out on Sonoma a couple weeks ago and the tires lasted 3 full-speed laps before overheating and falling off. The lower-powered 458 Challenge on the other hand turns in consistent (and much quicker) lap after lap there until the driver overheats
What is the annual charge to run the 599XX? Can we rent a space in a track and keep it there instead of being kept by Ferrari?
