Our 599 post-op. Avery Dennison Gloss Metallic Black wrap. Very happy with the result. Will be trying to get the mirrors done in the near future. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Reminds me of a 599 that a member used to own here. He had wrapped the roof and painted the wheels. I don't remember his sn but the car has been on ebay for a while now: Ferrari 599 Fiorano Coupe 2 Door | eBay http://photos.ecarlist.com/ZP/jk/Uf/7m/Ca/8U/29/0l/b5/6Q/pA_800.jpg
I agree. GTO wheels or Challenge wheels in dark grey. Painting or wrapping your mirrors to match the roof will definitely compliment the look. In any event your wrap looks great on the red car!
Thanks fellers. I'll be getting the current Monolithic wheels done in black or dark grey (still deciding) and if I don't like the look will try to find some GTO ones however that will be VERY hard as I don't think we even have any GTOs in our country so would have to get from overseas. Otherwise perhaps some HREs or ADVs
Looks great Cav, I'm just about to get mine done too, how did they wrap the buttresses? Did they take them off? If not, did they wrap the inside of them or just the outside? Did they wrap them in one or two pieces? The company I'm thinking of using would prefer them removed so they can wrap them in one piece, but dont know how easy they are to remove?Novitec NF4 wheels in grey would suit, easily available and new too! Here's some pics with the wheels on a 458 Ferrari 458 Spider
Hi They look to be bolted into the roof but mine were not removed (I didn't trust the wrapping company to do that). If I were to do it again I'd take it to the dealers, have them remove the buttresses, and take them separately. Mine were only wrapped on the outside, the red on the inside is still visible, however I do not mind (I thought I would)
Hi Cav, Thanks for the info, really helpful, thank you. I looked at removing the buttresses as you say, I think one bolt you can get to from inside the trunk but the other one I think you have to remove the wheel arch lining etc to reach which is pretty complicated, I don't know if anyone can confirm this? Therefore I've accepted they have to be done in situ, but yours look great anyway so happy to go ahead as is.
Hi guys. I'm new to the forum. Actually this is my first post. I'm responding here as I just purchased this car last week. My first Ferrari!
Thanks Terry. Here is a better photo of it at it's new home! As stated, the roof and mirrors have been wrapped, wheels powdercoted black, and all the badging blacked out. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool. Welcome to FC. Drive your 599 as much and as often as you can. They get better and better. Enjoy!
The A-10 woulda been a better answer!! Thanks for your service to our country. Bonus points for carrier landings!!!
Todd- Did you get to fly the F/A-18E or F? Real hot rods. I have 2000 fighter hours, mostly in F-111s, but also F4s, F-16s, and F-15s.
F-111...cool!!! Did you perhaps "fly around France" on the way to No. Africa from England years ago? I've two hrs in the back seat of an F-4C/D.....with about 15 min of actual stick and rudder time. It was an incentive to get me to sign as one of the rare flight surgeons who would also be trained as a combat ready pilot. I remember being quick and nimble on prerequisite egress and ejection training. Then, when we had an IFE on approach and had fire trucks and the like waiting on us at the end of the runway the pilot said "...don't dare touch a thing...I'll punch us out if needed!" Long story....didn't sign...as felt a career in medicine alone would be best for me. And it has been. Regrets? Maybe. Woulda flown the F-16 with that unit in transition....but the A-10 woulda been more my style of flying.... and support and weapons deployment.
