Hello guys Is anyone familiar with the power steering retro kit. As per the WM “ FROM Ass.ly No. 97930, a different power steering fluid is prescribed. The power steering fluid specified FROM Ass.ly No. 97930 must be used following installation of the components of the RETROFIT KIT Part No. 279664” I was plaining a power steering service when I found this, is there a advantage to the new fluid? Is it recommended to have earlier cars to have the retrofit kit? Thanks
Looks like 279664 is just a hydraulic line (pipe) unless it has something special inside. https://www.eurospares.co.uk/search?partNumber=279664
What I was able to find out is the kit has a new reservoir with new pipes, and the new reservoir cap has a an oil breather pipe.
If You have a system with an oil breather pipe, You can go with Pentosin chf11s as I did when car was about 46kkm. Now I have 80kkm without any problems and without any improvements on steering system. Remember not to mix atf with pentosin so a perfect flush is a need. Wysłane z iPhone za pomocą FerrariChat
