    I am looking to buy a 599 in the next few months. After watching countless youtube vidoes of both cars, I noticed that the 599 GTO sounds so much better. It has the exotic high pitched sound you hear from a 599XX. Even though the 599GTB sounds good, it doesn't have that high pitched F1 sound the GTO does.

    Now my question is, is that because the GTO has different internals in the engine or is it just the exhaust. If I change my exhaust out to capristo or tubi, will it give me a similar sound? What do you guys think. Thanks

    The answer to your question is both.

    The GTO's engine was optimized for additional power and as such has a slightly different tone. Most of the changes come from the exhaust system and most specifically the headers. Changing only the rear muffler section will not be enough to replica the GTO sound. You need to look into the headers and mid section with X pipe to come close to the GTO sound.

    There are very few companies that make full exhaust systems for the 599GTB, one of these is SuperSprint, you can see the full exhaust offering here:

    This kit was initially only available via Hamman, however SuperSprint has now made it available directly.

    Has anyone here tried the SS system? Does it make your 599gtb sound like a GTO?

    How about just x-pipes on the stock system?

    I agree with the OP, the GTO sounds much better than the GTB

    While I haven't heard the GTO in person but from what I've heard through sound clips and my Capristo I think it's just as nasty as the GTO :) now of course if I had the two to compare it may be night and day but the Capristo is amazingly sexy :)

    True but nobody knows what the SS sounds like. I cannot find a sound file anywhere. That is a lot of money to spend on hopes that it might sound like a GTO. What if it sound worse than stock?

    Hello,
    I have a capristo with the cat delete pipe on my gtb and being very often with GTO, I can say that the sound is very similar. Imho and according some other people who could hear both too.

    True that. Supersprints on Bimmers, yes. On Ferraris? Haven't heard of. And seriously, those Hamann exhausts on Ferraris are a complete waste of time. Until I hear one seriously exotic note from those SS exhausts my verdict still stands...these guys don't know exotics.

    Now imagine....if TiMate made one for the 599....omg...eardrums will bleed.

    Did you do them together or did you do them at one at a time? Which mod made it sound like a GTO? The Capristo's I heard on YouTube do not sound like a GTO

    Anyone tried a Kreissieg with or without a cat delete?

    I have a good stretch of road near me that I will try and get some good sound clips on... just been hard with my schedule but as soon as I do it I'll post!
