After this thread, my senses tells me there must be more than 30 599 manual cars...... You can always buy my Pozzi/crema 550 (also a manual!!!!) for 250.000 (1/2 price) 😉😉😉😉
I do not think anybody except Ferrari really knows how many 3 pedal 599s were built. They were still building them in 2011, so there must have been some market for them. All the dealers that discouraged owners from ordering three pedals must be kicking themselves now.
Here is the European 152969, the twin Silverstone sister of 150551. It is being auctioned at no reserve by RM this November 22-25, 2016 in Milano: 2007 Ferrari 599 GTB (Manual) | Duemila Ruote 2016 | RM Sotheby's Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I know this is a silly question .... but how many 599 GTB sticks came OEM with the HGTE option ? I assume that the HGTE option was only available OEM in 2010 and 2011 model years so your basically talking about extremely limited production. Anybody on Fchat have one ?
Not silly but excellent question. A Factory HGTE with a manual transmission is an albinos Left-Hander unicorn. I'm not even sure there is one existing;
A dark red car with 330 miles just changed hands sold by a dealer in Texas. No idea of how much it sold for.

To me, there is nothing that says "Ferrari" like a Rosso Red V12 GT Ferrari with Nero interior and gated shifter. Just awesome. That is how I would spec a Ferrari, if I could.
Is there an objective view of the effect a manual box has on the GTB's all-round performance? I'm not buying one, but I did own a GTB and attended the preview in Bologna. I remember Ferrari boasting at the preview the GTB had been engineered with the F1 box firmly in mind. So was this just Ferrari salesmanship? Or, is there a loss of agility from a gated box? And if yes, is the premium for a gated box silly?
On the 599 GTB the F1-gearbox is actually the regular manual gearbox with hydraulic powered gear changes and clutch (if I'm not mistaken) so apart from the automated changes being quicker than the manual ones, it should not make much difference. Rarity and nostalgia justify the premium for a manual box, but I can't help thinking there is also a part of snobbery since on the 599 the F1-system was really good (being the last iteration before dual-clutch introduction); unlike on the 355 where the first F1 system was relatively awful.
IMHO the premium has little to do with the driving experience and everything to do with the numbers that they were produced in.
Sadly, you are correct. Collectors & prospectors will always look for ways to drive up prices on limited edition cars to increase their investment portfolio. The tragic consequences of this are that many of these cars end up just rotting away in collections.
The incredibly low-mileage, Rubino 599 manual at the Gooding Auction was bid up to $610,000, but was a no sale. These are photos of the Australian, RHD SN 150335, mentioned above: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
