Our 599's alarm has been going off a little too often lately.

Firstly the custodian of the building told me that a motorbike starting-up in the garage next to ours started the 599's alarm last night. Then tonight, after parking and closing the car in our garage, a motorbike on the street set-off the alarm again as I was walking away from the car.

The car will be serviced at some point this month...so that's something that will have to be looked at.

Has anyone else had such an issue?

    Thanks,
    Carlo

no sir...the only times I've heard the alarm go off, is when I reach inside to get my cellular, or wallet, and forgot I locked it...have it checked out...let us know the results if any

Nope, don't have this issue, but I have had the alarm go off on me a couple times because I locked the car but the lock didn't engage even though the alarm was turned on. As a result, the car doors could still be opened, but this triggered the alarm off.

My 612 seemed more sensitive than my 599 is -- the 612 alarm seemed to sound 1 out of 3 times that I had it parked, and the 599 alarm hasn't gone off yet in 3 months of ownership. Would definitely have it checked out.

The car key's batteries are VERY low (you have to be within 2 meters for the car to accept any commands). I wonder if it's possible that the bad signal results in the alarm being activated but the doors remaining unlocked?? I'll try to open the door next time I lock the car and see if it's still open.

Anyway, I'll definitely change the key's battery and have the alarm system checked next time the car is serviced (a couple of weeks) if things don't get worse.
