Hey knowledgeable ones, Is there a way to identify if a 575 had an upgraded HGTC package like the ECU/TCU other than going to the dealership and requesting the history of the car? For example with an SD3 or some OBD scan etc. Or by looking at the serial number of the ECU? I believe that sway bars can be physically measured etc. However I am not sure about the ECU. Anyone know if the HGTC ECU is still available from Maranello or the dealerships or parts houses etc? Thanks [emoji1431] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sure, look at the part numbers and check against Eurospares' part catalogs. Note you have to upgrade both the HGTC Motronic ECUs and the TCU to make them work. They rely on each other and neither will work well without the other.
Honestly the easiest way to check if a car had the HGTC package is see if it has the OEM carbon brakes.... There are many other ways too: Cross check VIN in one of the several databases or Nathan's book Check/See the diameter of the rear sway bar See if the car had the OEM aero undertray for the larger ducts The list goes on
The Motronic ECUs and TCU were not always upgraded with the HGTC retrofit kits and there were multiple versions of the kits with varying amounts of equipment. Neither was the shock ECU always upgraded since early 575Ms were not compatible with the HGTC shock ECU. There are multiple 575Ms out there with varying amounts of HGTC equipment.
I should have clarified, I meant from the factory/not retrofitted. Yes you are right there are many partial HGTC cars out there. I myself would happily buy some parts/partial kit if I could find one! Too bad they are hens teeth now a days.
I’m curious about cars that were upgrade, not factory optioned cars. Because I see some cars that have FHP and HGTC exhaust and possibly the ecu/TCU but no carbon brakes, and some have the suspension and ecu/TCU but no exhaust and brakes etc. Brakes are easy to see, while the others are not. Especially the ecu/TCU. Thanks [emoji1431] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yup, mine (135171) has FHP, Superamerica HGTC mufflers, Fabio headers and cats, Supersprint over axle pipes, and Mov'It CER ceramic brakes. A mutt.
I post this link occasionally for those interested in HGTC subject matter. This forum album is a collection of HGTC components and some info learned about them. Owned this 575 for 12 years now and there is no replacement for it imho. Bill FL https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/media/albums/parts-album.1132/
A- Fabio does not replace the over the axle pipe, which is pretty badly kinked. His H pipe is a replacement for the center pipes.
Oh interesting, thank you. https://www.supersprint.com/ww-en/ferrari-575m/supersprint-performance-sport-exhaust-ferrari-575m-maranello/connecting-pipes-kit-right-left-v7.aspx#!/
My 575 has all the HGTC bits except carbon brakes and the steering harness stuff. I’d think you would have to check for parts/ECU numbers and window sticker to see what’s up.
I have the shock ecu. The skunkworks steering ecu. The sway bar, shocks, springs, brembo big brake kit (335 or 355). Remind me what else there was (I’m pretty sure I changed everything but it’s been ages since I completed).
A- Wrong connecting pipe. That is the one from the cat back to the center pipes. Fabio's headers and cats includes that one.
Hmm do you happen to have the part number for the one you used? That one looked right from the group photo Image Unavailable, Please Login
