Hi everybody, I got a 575M just some weeks ago. It's an early F1 model, produced in 2002. I was immediately disappointed by the exhaust sound, too quiet also for a very calm driver as I am. After asking here in another discussion, I took my decision: I asked my friend Fabio Fiammenghi, who owns a 575 M HGTC and produces custom exhaust for Ferraris.

My car has the mid muffler too, so the sound is really disapponting for a V12 Ferrari, in my opinion.

I first tried only with the valve controller he produces and the full stock exhaust, a very cheap choice: it improved the sound at idle and at very low RPM, but in my opinion this is not enough if you want an emotional sound at mid-high rpm too.

So today I got -directly from his hands- the free flow mufflers: I will let you know as they work as soon as they will be installed. They will be installed without any other mod and keeping also installed the mid muffler.

    Ciao

Very excited for you. I will be planning similar (stock headers > mid-pipes > Fabio bypass) for my 456M. Looking forward to when Fabio finishes my set!

I don't think I've seen a video that has the sound of this setup. I'll be interested to hear it!

You went to the top of the pyramid!

His headers will be on our car at some point (likely when the economy gets better and I am not paying for a kiddo in college!)

Hi everybody, yesterday I got back the car from Motor Service in Modena, where it was for servicing and exhausts installing: the sound perfectly fits what I was looking for. It's loud at idle, roaring enough giving gas in neutral gear and not too noisy at mid-high RPM. In my opinion that's the good balance I was looking for: emotion, but without breaking glasses, waking up suddendly the neighbour and so on. The car cabin noise level is still comfortable for a long trip. Please don't forget that my car is a 2002 M.Y. so it has the mid muffler - no straight pipes- still doing its job: I only installed Fiammenghi open tips, 100% free flow.

Could somebody post a video of a full straight pipe Fiammenghi race exhaust on their car at full throttle and reviving ?

Those are not mufflers, just extended tailpipes. Should make some glorious noises and the HGTC style tailpipes look great.

The sound is that, the same I heard just some weeks ago at Fabio's home: it doesn't change... Fabio Fiamnenghi himself sent me the link.

Thankyou, agree, I appologize but I still don't know English enough to always use the appropriate word. This said, there are some mufflers - for example the Tubi Style "loud" or "+R" 550/575 tail mufflers- that inside have only straight pipes like my ones: they only have a metal box outside to look like the OEM ones.

I want to add that those two straight tailpipes Fiammenghi part #FE.02.007 weight is about 50 lbs less than the OEM mufflers, I suppese more ore less the same if you install the equivalent Tubistyle straight pipes part #01069661000. But the Tubistyle price here is two times Fiammenghi ones: 2484 USD for the Tubistyle and 1229 USD for Fiammenghi's.

I compared the prices shown online by the producers official Internet sites:

    https://www.fiammenghiitalia.com/en/prodotto/set-of-rear-straight-pipes-2/#

    https://catalogue.tubistyle.it/ferrari/575m-maranello-superamerica-2002-2006/mufflers/550-575-straight-pipes-exhaust-kit.html

That's awesome you got to meet Fabio! Since buying from him we've exchanged many messages. He seems like a great guy.

I went with the full setup on my 550. Headers, 200cel cats, double H-pipes, and valved mufflers. Did the install myself. Only big issue was getting to all those 2 dozen header nuts. I also just got around to installing a dash switch to control the valves. As you'll see in the pic, the symbol is brighter white than the other switches, so now I'm going to want to redo all those! It's always something.

Nice idea! The full kit sound is glorious, well done even if I suppose it costs a ton of money. The price shown on Fiammenghi's site is 8250 + 880 + 390 + 3280 = 12800 euro.

Fortunately the previous owner had put just the mufflers on, so at least I didn't have to pay for those. But yea, it's expensive, but his work is high quality and well engineered. The header design totally changes the sound.

Yes, Fabio told me that: headers are a game changer if you want a fabulous sound

Congrats and please share a video at the end of the installing process!

I did the install a few months ago. I need to get some more vids, but here are two that I've shared before along with a comparison of a stock 3 port 550 manifold and Fabio's 6 port.

I had muffler delete pipes on my 456M and they were great. The first video you posted was the first video Fabio made in 2015. At that time he had his 6-1 headers + corresponding catalyzers + his own X-pipe + his original HGTC mufflers. This set-up seems to be very rare for his customers as he have sold almost only double H-pipe. I had a test drive in Fabio's 575 with that set-up summer og 2015 which is the one he had in this video. The sound was amazing. Not loud at all. It just sounds very loud in the video. I commented that it was excellent sound, but should be a bit more volume... With the double H and/or with his custom mufflers, the cars will be more loud. In my opinion, a X-pipe + muffler delete pipes or sport rear mufflers would be the best sound.

I thought X-pipe with muffler deletes makes a helicopter sound on 456s? To be fair, I forget if it was X pipe, H pipe, or the straight bypass mid pipes that caused a helicopter noise when combined with the muffler deletes.

I have the straight mid pipe delete right now, and I don’t like the sound at all… Way too raspy. I am going to replace the factory mid pipe and add Fabio’s muffler deletes when he finishes making them for me.

When I first got my 550, it had all stock exhaust except for Fabio's mufflers and some unknown X pipe. For me, it was WAY too raspy (and I was coming from a 458 with headers and no cats). I hated it so much I actually bought a used OEM mid-pipe (also a double-H) to replace the X while I waited for Fabio's parts. The stock mid-pipes completely removed that raspy sound. Some my like this, it just wasn't for me.
