Seems the 456GT with standard 17" wheels runs with the following tyre pressures:

    front 2.4bar 34psi
    rear 2.6bar 38psi

Where as the standard 550M with 18" wheels runs with the following tyre pressures:

    front 2.0bar 29psi
    rear 2.0bar 29psi

My question is: if you fit 550 18" wheels on a 456 what would the optimal pressures be ?

The pressure also depends on the brand of tires. On the 550 Michelins have to be inflated to 2 bars, Pirellis to 2.2 - and this is minimum pressure. Add maybe 0.2 bar as a margin.
The 456 weighs like a 550, and weight distribution is also comparable, so if you fit 550 wheels/tires just inflate them like you would on a 550.
