I have seen 348, 355 and 360 rims on Mondial's. Can I install 550 or 575 rims on a 1989 Mondial T?. I want to upgrade the rims on my car, but do not want the car to look like a new modern Ferrari. I am trying to find a rim that will suit the 16 year look.

I'm pretty sure that the offsets are close enough to work, but the rears on the 550 are much wider than the Mondial, so they will either rub or stick out and look funny, or perhaps both. I have always thought that the 456 wheels would look nice on the Mondial, being 17" like the 348 wheels, but you would need to use 4 fronts or have the rears narrowed because the 10" rears are too wide for a Mondial.

Naaah... 10 inch wheels are not to wide for the Mondial t (proof attached via photo of my 10 inch rears). Incorrect offsets! Now that can make them look wrong, but 10 inches are not the problem.

    Michael,
Interesting. I could have sworn someone here tried to put 456 wheels on a Mondial and had issues with the rears. Maybe not!

Most people wouldn't consider moving the shock mount in 1.63" trivial since it involves welding new mounts onto the wheel carrier, but once done, they fit....oh and that is with aftermarket shocks using 2.5" ID springs too. If you try to space them so you don't have to move the shock they will stick out of the fender 1.63". If you don't have aftermarket spings they will stick out of the fender about 2".

The best looking combo I've seen on a Mondial T Coupe is by a local owner here who has 512TR wheels on his car. They're sometimes mistaken as 355 wheels because the looks are so similar, but they are in fact from a 512. Simply put, these are the wheels that should've been on the Mondial from DAY 1!

Let me try to find a pic somewhere....
