Part two of the "Wizard"s 550 fuel pump fix Looks like he didn't refit the boot. What's the purpose of the boot? Noise suppression? Heat insulation?

Resurrecting. Seems simple but I need guidance on how to connect a line to the end of the fuel rail to drain the gas tank. Seem simple but can’t find anywhere what I need to buy to accomplish. Assume it’s a threaded or spring connector over the shrader valve end and a line to a gas tank. Or step by step to drain the tank somehow on a 2001 456M. Need to replace fuel pumps as one has failed and a full tank! Much appreciated community. Ed
I used the hose from my fuel pressure gage and unscrewed it from the unit and used some clear tubing to extend the flow. I jumpered the fuel pump relay and used the battery cutoff switch to control the pump.
I ended up ordering Fabio's holder instead as Ricambi's updated/uprated OEM replacement was backordered.
