my visor mirror is broken -hinge and light any one have a working visor mirror dave already fixed the drooping problem thx
I searched but didn't find anything...anybody know what the material on the mirror side of the sun visor is? Mine his some kind of white caked on dust that must be from me cleaning it in the past but I don't remember doing it. The white dusty stuff is also caked on to the overhead light black plastic console. I'm think about trying "Back to Black" on the overhead light, but I'm not sure what to use to clean up the sun visor. Is it Alcantara, Suede or something else? Thanks for any help
Dave, droopy visors on Italian 90's cars aren't exclusive to Ferrari. I have one (passenger side) on my Lancia 8.32. Fortunately it has no electrics. Could you PM me to discuss? Kine regards Graham
Good !! I have a droopy visor on a Lancia 8.32. The engine is ‘by Ferrari’ and I am suspecting the sun visors maybe as well.
Maybe not so good, What I've seen of all the Ferrari models only the 550/575 visors share a common visor. I'm not aware of any other visors that are shared from model to model. If you want to send me pics I'll look at them but I seriously doubt that I can help you. It involves the shape of the plastic molded on the hollow pin.
Yes it’s difficult, would I need to remove the leather covers to show on a photo what you need to see? Sorry to be a pain, I have tried all the generic fixes on you tube.
Hi Graham, I looked at several Lancia Thema sun visors on eBay and they all look like they have a solid plastic hinge pin instead of a molded plastic on a hollow steel shaft. I can do nothing for these and It also looks like the stitching is different so I would not be able to take the visor apart and re-stitch it. The other thing I noticed is that their cost is less than my cost of repair of the 550/575 visors. Have you checked eBay for a replacement? Bottom line, I don't think I can help you, but thanks for thinking of me Dave
Hi Dave, I apologise, I cannot seem to find the option to PM you. Are you still carrying out repairs to the 550 Maranello sun visors? I have a passenger side (RHD Model) that is in need of attention. Many thanks in advance.
Hi Dave Any chance you can fix my dropping passenger side visor - LHD car Am in Italy [email protected] Manuel
Yes, The cost is $150.00 to repair as long as no one has tried to repair it and messed things up. Unfortunately I often cannot tell if this is the case until I open the visor and look at the internals. The procedure is you send me your visor along with a check made out to David Burch for $150.00 and a prepaid return shipping label. This allows you to choose the shipping method and pay only the actual cost. Please do not mark "Signature required" as sometimes no one is at home to sign for the package and this delays things. Please email me the tracking number so I will know when to expect it. Turn around is usually two days. Best, Dave
