I offer a repair service on 550 and 575 drooping sun visors
(as described in this thread Sunvisor fix)

This fix is permanent and should last the life of the car

I do not sell repair parts; I only fix the drooping visor.

The cost is $150.00 per visor provided no one has messed it up with an attempted repair. If someone has attempted a repair the cost may be more depending on how badly it is messed up.

Turnaround is usually one –two days.

PM or email for shipping details

I think I am ready to resume visor repairs, knee still hurts but I'll work around that.

For those who are unfamiliar with my repair I replace the plastic sleeve with an aluminum sleeve bonded to the steel tube. The repair is undetectable and should last the life of the car.

As long as the visor is unmolested the repair is straightforward however if repairs have been attempted the cost may be more.

Please either PM or email me for details

My visor is now back on the car after having been on a 12,000 mile round trip to MSW!

For anyone this contemplating this job, I found the R&R bit to be relatively straightforward but as with most things, the first time takes longer than you might think!

There are just two screws to remove the visor but then a little care is required to steadily unravel the circa 25cm of flex (including the connector) out of the hole in the frame. The hole is not much bigger than an acorn and the connector is bulkier than a pen top.

Refitting is of course the reverse process but it took me a little time to get that connector in and out of the way so that the last 20cm of flex could be stowed and then finally, to line up the visor so that the screws found the captive nuts but we're now good to go!

    Thank you Dave!

I'll be out of commission for awhile, went to ER last night with chest pain, need a bypass operation so no more visor repair for awhile.

Dave, I'm very sorry to read this. My dad had quadruple bypass in 09. The recovery took some time but he is doing great as I'm sure you will also.

Make sure you get the best surgeon. You will do well. Call me if I can help in anyway.
