does 1994 , 512 TR have power steering ? cause on my F355 incan turn the sterring wheel much easier , even on F40 its easier then on 512 TR , is it ok ? thanks
512TR steering noticeably heavier at low speeds than F40. Also, the turning circle is wider than the F40 just to compound the manoeuvring effort. EZ Steering is a good option - I have in on an older car, and you can adjust the level of assistance electrically which means you can use it for low speeds only if you want.
Correct ! I had this set installed as first prototype ! Best investment in my 512TR ! But more people here imported it; it may be sold in USA by now ? Read this thread completely please and you find conclusions about the powersteering for this nice firm ! But cannot find the actual large thread about the powersteering here ... go and search ! More USA friends use it ...
After some machine work, I got the physical unit installed. Now I need to wire it. Easiest way to connect to red/black wire to speedometer?
Sorry, too long ago …. But please post photo's of your work; it will/may be valuable to many others here
Why would u do that...it’s really not that hard to drive even without power steering once it gets rolling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've seen power steering modifications that are only active up to 15 mph, with the power steering turning off above those speeds. That should give you a true steering feel "at speed". Seems like if the lack of power steering keeps someone from being able to enjoy the car, then it's not a bad idea. I used to drive a 3890 pound Lexus LS400 in which the power steering didn't work. That was soooooo much harder to drive at low speed than the 512 TR. I was surprised to find that the 512 TR was only about 1 larger person lighter at 3650 pounds. It feels much lighter.
The tr family is rather heavy but not behind the wheels for sure! I still think its to this day the nicest ferrari with the f40. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The set, mentionned by me in above post, is fully changable to exactly your needs ! I had assisantce until 75 kms/hr to get around most roundabouts. No more assistnce at higher speed ... but as mentionned, it can be set to your wishes by yourself by one potentiometer only
