I wanted to share my installation of a 5 point harness in my 360. I use my car on track days, and after a few events, i felt i should find a way to gets the right belts in my car. I wanted to use a method that looked like it belonged in a Ferrari and offered a safe option while retaining my Daytona seats.

We CNC machined a 6061-T6 Billet bar to bolt up to the factory horizontal crossmember tube. We machined four rounded surfaces on the back so the belts could wrap around the bar freely without hanging up on any square corners.

To avoid crushing the existing horizontal crossmember, we machined tubes with heads on them so the bolts were pulling against both surfaces of the tube without crushing it. It installs with two 12MM bolts and two 10MM bolts total. The lower stainless steel mounts attach at the existing seat belt points and in a similar fashion on the lower/outers.

For appearance, we powder coated the Billet bar in Matte black, then Machined the Ferrari Text into the center for a highlight. It is nicely visible and centered between the seats.

We chose SCHROTH cam lock belts that unhook at the sides, so the lower belts can be easily removed and stored away while the shoulder belts can easily just hang straight down while street driving.

now, i can be locked in their next time I'm tossing the car around on the race course...

This is amazing stuff! Please share more details on the process! I'm in the midst of working out a way to bolt on oem harness from a scud and this looks like a really ingenious way to get it done! Thanks for sharing n

Would be nice to know how the bar was installed. I know there are four holes to be drilled but does that mean the harnesses cannot be removed unless the bar comes out? Does the bar need any tightening now and then? It sure looks very oem-ish.

Any chance you will be making some of these spare for sale?

the belts can be fed through the buckles and removed without removing the bar. it would require drilling through the bulkhead and crossmember and installing the anti-crush tubes.

two holes require a gripsert to be installed with a crimping tool. you also need to punch holes in the leather. PM me i can send more pics by email

it shouldn't need retightening, it has grade 8 bolts with nylock nuts, but it never hurts to recheck after track use.
