I replied through an email from mrpca, but I'm not on your list. Please add Cindy and Paul/Boxster S. Thanks!
The turn out is amazing and I thank all of you for participating. Now to the SERIOUS, VERY SERIOUS stuff. We have so many cars that we will have to leave in flights and they will depart at 5 minute intervals. This is a FUN RUN not a timed or competition event and it is not designed or conceived to be so. If you want to practice high speed driving do so on your 'play station' at home NOT HERE! I want everyone to know that we will have to travel through several residential areas as the run unfolds. Those areas have speed limits of 30, 35, 40 etc. make sure when you look at your dash and see 3,4 or 5 anything it is your speed and not your RPMs! I don't want to see anyone get a ticket or have a wreck that will take the fun out of it for you and perhaps many others that are participating. REMEMBER, bring a toy or a donation BUT LEAVE YOUR COMPETITIVE SPIRIT AT HOME--you can take that to the Motorsports Ranch or Eagle's Canyon. Remember the tolls if you do not have a NTTA Toll Tag Remember monetary donations and I will have an envelope Make checks out to COLLIN COUNTY CHILDRENS ADVOCACY CENTER The ultimate updated list; Don & Carolyn Tillman Jano Rafi Tom W.

I would like everyone to have a little patience on Saturday. In previous events we have had a good turn out and we could all leave at once because of the number of cars and the way the run was constructed. That is a bit different this time. We are limited but a traffic signal at the start of the run and it will only allow a few cars through at a time. So we are going to do flights. IT WOULD HELP IF EVERYONE WOULD PARK ON EITHER SIDE OF COMMANDER FACING TO THE EAST. This way it will be easier to stage the exit of each group. As I said a little patience and we will all get there and have a great time.
Weather Forecast- Windy. Cloudy skies will become partly cloudy this afternoon. High 67F. Winds S at 25 to 35 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph. And before we roll out from west Fort Worth, I want to thank Don and Carolyn for bringing us all together for this event. Thanks also to Ruf Auto Centre, Boardwalk Ferrari, and Lamborghini Dallas for their participation. In a season where the economic outlook isn't the cheeriest, the pre-event interest really speaks to the quality of people involved and that regardless of what may be happening in our individual lives, that we can all still get together for a good cause. See everyone at 8am. Todd & Nancy
And here I thought I would be getting the early morning post honors! Looking forward to seeing everyone there, and would like to echo Todd & Nancy's thank you to Don and Carolyn for organizing this again this year. Save me a spot in the last run group. I've got my schedule cutting a little close this morning with Chloe's b-ball game, so please don't leave without me! Chet
Im going to the hospital this AM, so I wont be making it. I do have two toys I bought, so Im going to try to make the coffee tomorrow and maybe I can drop it off with someone there? Have fun and be safe
I guess I'm home first. Likely for all the wrong reasons, the day didn't end well for me. Glad my problem is mechanical rather than otherwise. A few of my pictures..... Sorry about that Jim, you were a great route leader today ! Thanks to Don and Carolyn for all those hours coming up with that great fun run. Everyone I talked to thought it was our best ever. Being near the front probably helped. Thanks also to RUF, Boardwalk and Lambo Dallas for their support of this event. Good to see some old friends and meet some new ones, and the car viewing was outstanding. Here are a few of my pics. Don't have time to see what pics I have at the moment, I suspect they are the same as everyone elses Good run D&C, LOTS of cars there, lots of toys. Did everyone smile at the nice officer in the Explorer?
This was a great run. Sorry to hear about the electrical issue Jim, but I was thrilled to be able to run in your pack. I still love your car. If you have any other pics of us, I would love it if you could email them to me. Porsche/Saturn mash-up aside, I don't think the day could have been better. We even had a CTS take a ticket for us! I hope everyone made it home okay. Thanks to Don and Carolyn, RUF, Lambo and Boardwalk, Southfork, the nice officer lady that escorted the second pack in, the tow trucks that assisted the ones that needed it, the grumpy old man in the yard and the expidition, the little mexican food place for not complaining about us rearranging, and to the 100+ vehicles, especially Scotty. I forgot the person's name I was speaking to at RUF this morning, about a late model Esprit. I think you were in a yellow 355? I forgot to give you my number. It was a Lotus guy. If anyone knows who it was, could you please let me know? I look forward to the next event, and hopefully I will be a driver for the 2009 Toy Run.
Does anyone know the status of the red 993 and Saturn passengers? Is everyone OK? Don and Carolyn - thanks for all your hard work putting this together.
I heard that the 993 party was okay, but shaken I'm sure. I believe the saturn owner wasn't bad off either..
I regret that I couldn't come today due to family conflicts. Sounds like it was great. Wonder whose 993 was involved in the accident. Wasn't me in my red Turbo R, thankfully. Patrick
Jim, I hope your car is an easy (inexpensive) fix. You really kept us on track today. I have to thank everyone involved with the preparation of this event. Primarily Don and Carolyn, but of course RUF and Boardwalk, et al. I know the kids of the communities served by Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, and the other agencies that collected the toys, are going to have a much brighter Christmas season this year due to your efforts. I had an absolute BLAST!!!!! It was a pleasure to meet many of you who post here, I wish I could have met everyone!! The Texas FerrariChat group are some of the best people around. Thanks to Rick (512 Dreamer) for navigating and introducing me to the local Fchat luminaries. I hope to participate in many future events with this group!!
Was a great time and a worthy cause--thanks to all the organizers! Had a lot of fun. Was great to meet many of you, and thanks again Will for navigating and introducing me to everyone.
Here are some more of my pics while we are waiting for other photog's to chime in. I thought the one of Jimpo might be good for you photshoppers to work with. I couldn't stop snapping Don's 512M, and didn't get around to many other cars. Thanks everybody, I had a good time and it was a fun event...I was in the very loud silver Porsche 997 GT3... -Dan
Good pics, Dig. I will try to get mine up tomorrow. I should have a few good ones of your GT from when we were on the DNT and GBT. All the twisties and 2 lanes made it hard for me to get a decent pic after that.

This really was an epic event, 100+ cars, excellent job Don & Carolyn you really outdone yourselves for a great cause. Big thanks to goes to Aaron (P3+J3^u!) & his black Vette for letting ride along. Brother, can this group show up and support an event!!!!!!! A big round of applause to all of you. On the sign in list we had 97 drivers and 149 total. I had printed 100 maps and those were all taken plus my own with notes given to Greg. A couple of people ask me for maps just before we took off but I could not accomodate them. So I suspect we had over 100 cars! Some deserved credits: Hans, Jacky, Wayne, Carl and Jonathan at RUF Auto Centre for the great Continental breakfast and the use of your facility Mike Luongo and the people at Lamborghini Dallas Stewart Foster and the people at Boardwalk Ferrari The Mayor of Parker, Joe Cordina and his wife Patty Mike Sheff and Peter Loughlin of the Parker Volunteer Fire Dept. Officer Hernandez of the Parker Police Dept.-A special thanks for diffusing the situation on Ridgeview Dr. Kimberly Twomey-event coordinator at South Fork Ranch Larry and his crew from Speciality Carriers for donating their time and trucks (sorry we needed them) I cannot thank all of you enough. I have no idea the size of the toy donation because of the efficiency of the fire department in segregating them into piles and then boxing them up for delivery. It had to be huge because of all the people I saw making trips to the drop off spot laden with goodies. The cash donation was over $1700.00. I think one of the most impressive aspects of this years event is the incredible draw we got from the surrounding areas. Scott (TRScotty) came from Tyler just to be in the run! You all deserve a big pat on the back for making several family's rather bleak looking Christmas much brighter and after all that is what this thing is all about. Merry Christmas to all of you wonderful people for making this run the best yet, you guys are the GREATEST! Although already posted I think this sums it up quite nicely. Thanks to you and Carolyn, Don for all of your planning, organizing, and the hard work putting this all together. Seems like there were only a handful of us a couple of years ago... Also big thanks to Carl and the guys at RUF for being great early morning hosts, all of the volunteers that helped on the receiving end of the deal, and the people at Southfork and Amados for their hospitality. Jordan Bars and Dan Brodaski were the people involved representing Boardwalk, I was just there on my own because I knew it would be a great event....... Merry Christmas and Happy Everything....... Thank you Don and Carolyn for the considerable time and effort to get this event on the road each year. Thanks to all the sponsors for their support to include Specialty Carriers (good foresight) FOD and LOD. And to RUF for donating the use of their facility and for the breakfast. Good job.
Don and Carolyn, I can't help but wonder if you're a little overwhelmed with how much this event has grown? I was explaining to a coworker that joined us Saturday that the growth of this thing has been nearly exponential. I thought last years turn out was high! Congratulations and thank you! I think I've made them all, and I remember the first one when it was just 15 or 20 of us. I remember the lady at the last stop asking if they were all Mustangs, and we were all warming our hands over the back of Janos car. This years route was great, but I'm glad I was in the first group. I can imagine it getting a little hairy with the residents in some of those areas after the 50 or 60th sports car went blasting by. It was fun running with some of the usual suspects, my group included Frances, Phil, Phils other car , Rick, and our neighbor from Tyler, Scotty. We also had a guy in a Viper with us. I felt a little underpowered with that much horsepower behind me, but no one passed me to take over lead duties. As a result, my son is becoming a pretty good navigator! There were a few times I thought I was lost, but my son pointed out some landmarks and let me know we were on track.
