That car was not front ended. It hit something from below that forced the front up big time. There's frame damage there for sure. From the description and look it appears to have run over a curb at high speed and then into a large tree. The nose as been definitely forced up.

If you read the listing text, it rolled down a steep driveway and hit a tree.

That is going to be hard to justify fixing, unless you can get it awful cheap... especially if there is frame damage.

I am having a hard time understanding how they are "lot driving" it without an upper radiator hose!!!!

    I noticed that also.

The bottom line, I'm sorry to say, is this car will never be on the road again. Someone who doesn't know what they're getting into might pick it up. Once they discover how much the frame damage, core support, fenders, hood, etc. are going to cost it will get stripped for parts.
That's too bad. There are only 30 or so 5 speeds in the US; now there is one less.

Funny but I'm starting to believe it is possible, not likely, but possible that John and I will have the only 5-speeds in the US at some point.

Dave North has a 5-speed 400i that will be around a long time. It is kind of a lime green. He is FCA Regional Director for Penn Jersey Region. It has about 140K miles and very well taken care of with a recent engine rebuild. You might know him. Dave drives it (or one of his other F cars) to Texas and runs an annual 1000 mile rally there. That puts 4000 miles on the car in under 2 weeks!

Umm,re the lot driving;you can probably have the driven for about 5 minutes(from cold)before ANY type of damage occurs, including evaluating brakes, gearbox, electrics etc and driving onto a trailer, which I think is where they are going with their statement.
Having said that the fact that the hose is off and the radiator looks to be bent,is there pump damage?

Would be quite a challenge to rebuild.

With all that is wrong with it: complete front bumper, front grill, parking light assemblies both sides, head light assemblies both sides, both front fenders, frame straightening (if possible), cooling fans, radiator, hood, and at least one wheel, you are easily approaching the price of a complete replacement car in today's market. Thus I am amazed it is being advertised with a clean title.

It looks to me to be a parts car now, but the highest value part has a very limited audience--the five speed transmission if Dave's count of 30 others in US is accurate is rare.

If I had an nice driving automatic, I would have to seriously consider purchasing that one to convert. Then sell the rest, along with the left over parts from the automatic.

Anyway, I don't; and I already have too many projects.

I see a replica coming soon and lots of good 400i parts on offer.
This is also a perfect opportunity for the fellow who repaired the rolled car to get his registration sorted.
Hard way to lose a car. Does this belong to anyone here?

There is a 1967 330GT currently on eBay with a chevy 350. I know this V12 is fuel injected, but it would be a much better fit in the 330 than the chevy.

Looks like it just traded for $11,500.

And then within a few minutes I received this email saying it had closed:

Somebody either has a plan and a pile of parts that match this car or it will be for sale again after repairs are attempted.
