I have owned two 812 superfast and one pista and an f8! enjoyed all four of them ! I feel i want to go back to ferrari but not at those levels . Saw one for 259 ( sold) at a miami dealership . Is this model worth the experience. Obviously at a lower price point i am expecting less but i do like it and simply do not want to get into the mid 350’s plus for the other models ….

Well, it’ll certainly be slower than the 4 you’ve had but let’s be real….. not much slower! And definitely a LOT of car for 260-300k— I feel your previous 3 models are better looking than the 488 but that’s up to you and you’re opinion. They may handle and accelerate a bit better than a 488, have a few more tech/engineering advances BUT again, we’re talking a big difference in price— all your other cars were 400-650k and you can find a nice 488 between 260 and 325…. So my answer is a definite YES! It’s worth it for the small performance differences that most of us won’t even feel and the subjective aesthetics due to the price difference being quite huge. It’s still a very modern, highly capable, beautiful Ferrari.

Sh*t, I might have talked myself into a 488 being a smarter purchase than my F8– nah, F that, I’m blown away by the beauty of the F8 and that engine is just perfection (ya ya, except the sound) [emoji4]

I think you would be very happy with the car. I totally miss mine. Mostly the glorious sound of the engine with the valves pulled. I am so disappointed with the sound of my F8 S. I’ve often thought about going back to a 488S and put 100 plus k in my pocket. Go for it. Best , Kirk.

I’d get a premium 458 over a 488. While the 458 is slower, the “sensation of speed” will rival most of the cars you’ve owned and definitely beat out the 488 in terms of feel.

I have a 2017 488 Spider purchased with 2600 miles on it. I really think it hits the sweet spot in terms of acceleration, handling and sound. Plus, it can be a ***** cat in heavy traffic. It received many advances over the 458 including cabin fit and finish, power and handling but Ferrari was able to get the exhaust sound right compared to the disappointment of the F8 which still costs much more than the 488.
You won’t be disappointed, especially given your thoughts as to cost.

I would consider a 09 Scuderia given you have had a Pista. Great sound with valves open, quick .60 second shifts & raw. I had one and regret I sold it. They hold value well and in the mid 200k.

Personnally I would differ on that - a 488 is certainly slower than an F8, but not that much - whereas the 458 is a lot slower, which may be painfully obvious (it depends on what is expected and how feelings are built though, so the choice is totally subjective... for me the 458 really felt slow even compared to my 599, no matter how noisy the 458 was).

I can empathize….getting passed by C8 Z06 corvettes on track like I was standing still in the 458. After you have a lot of experience in the 458 it does start to feel slow. That said, if you don’t track the car I do believe the 458 gives a better experience than a standard 488 GTB, and the differences in speed, unless you’re on track, really don’t matter.

I bought into the hype on the 458 and picked up a 14 spider red/tan w/ 10k for $275. It's a fun car w/ the screaming engine... more appealing to me than the big burly turbocharged feel. Time will tell on the hype of the last NA, v8, red/tan, etc,... I did just read recenly that only about 1200 458 spiders were built worldwide.

I think total 458 Spiders built is about 6,000.

488 Spiders are much more, over 10,000.

Source was Continental Autosports for what I recall.

about 1400 per model year is likely quite accurate- not total.

I love the 488…love the looks, feel and with the vacuum line on the exhaust valves pulled and plugged it sounds good. I drove 4t8 and 488 before I chose.
@Dbops618 if your up in Tampa anytime I’ll show you mine. I’ve been thinking of selling it to get another…. Looking for one with race seats. Either way still happy to show you so you can really look a 488 over without a car sales guy.

Racing seats makes sense only with harness belt

Not true whatsoever. In fact, they are better without the harness. To strap into that harness every time you got in would not be acceptable for daily/pleasure use. I know, I have the race buckets and love them. On a track sure, harness up.
