    Question to the wheel doctors....

    Question 1
I noticed that on the 458, going from the OEM tires (20) to a set of (22); there is less than an inch overall for both the front and rears. However going from a 488 OEM tire (20) to a set of (22) are MORE than an inch overall. Are there any issues ??? Speedometer, rubbing, etc.

    Question 2
If I plan on tracking my 488 and also taking it to the mountains to due some spirited driving (lots of high speed switch back and very very tight turns) .... would you recommend a 20-21 setup or 21-22. Note that I do not want to change the wheels for event days... and what size wheels ...

Robert, is there a reason you don't want to use the stock wheels? 20" will have more tire options than either 21 or 22. As to specific track tires, smaller wheels are usually the way to go when you start talking these sizes, more sidewall, cheaper tires, better tire options, etc. If I was going to spend anytime on track, I wouldnt consider anything over 20, unless I had to in order to maintain aspect ratios that I couldnt achieve with a 2o" set up.

As to "less than an inch" comment, what are you using that in reference to as for measurement?

The 21" wheel in the rear, IMHO, makes the car More aggressive looking.... I have that setup on my 458 and had 20's all the around on my scuderia. Just like to make the car a little more aggressive than OEM.

Also, we will never use these cars to their fullest potential and therefore for me....... it is like having moving art that is also a street legal race car So, if it isn't not exact with the specs, but close.... that works for me..... not everyone, but for me

then, given what you're after, I would do 20/21 in the new mpsc2 N2 if you can wait or the N1 if you need them now.

So we have done a ton of both setups, and to be honest it comes to personal preference.

The 20/21 setup is my favorite because we are able to run a 21x13 rear with the new Pirelli PZ4 or Pirelli’s new Corsa Tire in 355/25/21 and they are fantastic. Once lowered on the Novitec springs the car just has a planted look and feel.

With the extra power the 488 has, and for spirited droves the 20/21 really is the way to go. That’s not a knock on the 21/22 but that is a stunning look, it’s just comes down to driving style and what you’re looking to get out of it.

Here is our Rosso Scuderia 488 Spider on 20/21 HRE P207’s and Pirelli PZ4 Rubber and novitec goodies for reference.

Typically unless we go 9.5" wide on the front (which we don on a 21" wheel) we stick with the 245/35/20 (same as OEM) on the 20x9 front wheel. It just keeps the Overall diameter in line with the rears as much as possible. We have found its the best solution.

Good Morning Hoang, I hope the below information helps you out brother.

Is there a particular wheel that you have in mind? I'd be more than happy to price out a wheel and tire package for you.

    Thanks Brother,
