“Can always find another 458 at a later date”

    Not sure about that.

You should keep the 458 and add the 296 to your stable.

Hybrid IMO is best of both world, don't need to agree, just me ok. I hope and pray I am wrong and they make hybrids for quite some time, longer they make them the better, fingers crossed. I have Tesla Plaid as well, it is good family kids hauling point A to B car, speed, and nothing more.

I had taste of what hybrid can bring after having 17 NSX 5 years ago then replaced it with 488 as daily, put on 10k miles then missed the EV like instant responds from NSX and picked up 19 NSX, replaced it with Taycan Turbo S due to new born and now 22 NSX type S as daily. The NSX handles and feels like 1000lbs lighter than its weight. The 296 is so much more powerful, lighter, better sounding. Simply far better car overall in near all aspects. My interest in 296 is high from enthusiast stand point (My head said 296, my heart said other wise, I passed on 296 despite similar cost to my 22 NSX Type S, it was sold out in one hour, I placed order with 3 dealers, despite 2 previous ownership history, I did not get allocation and ended up had to pay big from flipper who immediately sold at delivery miles, they go for $300k to $350k used). I have more interest in SF90 or next gen hybrid Lambos.

Given the fact a friend of mine is selling his Pista to get an 296 GTB with AF, I called up the dealer and did a test-drive with a 296 GTB this morning.

For me the 296 interior feels much smaller than 488/F8. Starting the drive, at slower speeds the steering felt much lighter; I really had the impression of driving a smaller car which was not planted to the road. Acceleration is good and the sound in qualifying mode is really cool. Note though, it's not so raw as the V8 but the V6 has an amusing and fun to drive soundtrack.

After a 30 minute enjoying drive I was thinking of ordering a GTS for summer time but.. then I drove back home in the F8 and had an overwhelming feeling. Much heavier steering, more spacious cabin and surprisingly I preferred the V8 "silent" sound.

Maybe I should book another test drive to get a second opinion but for now I would stick with 488 / Pista / F8.

this was my experience as well. After the demo day/test drive dealer called me and asked if I wanted to place an order which I declined. I’ll be sticking with the f8 for a while I suspect or move into the v12 line.
