Hi to all of you. I’m deciding which Ferrari to buy and I can’t decide. I’ve 2 choices. AnF8 Spider my best friend ordered but don’t want cause he has an SF90. So this would be brand new. An 812 of June 2020 airy 4k miles. I’ve had 458 coupe, 488 Spider and F12. Im afraid F8 being too similar to 458 and 488.
Super tough decision.. Get both. Assets that thrill. Last ones before your shop starts hiring electricians. One needs an aftermarket exhaust and one doesn’t. One the wife might complain that her knees are a bit high and butt too low the other not. One has a sizable trunk one has small frunk. One screams to 9k and one coughs around 8k. They are both the best imho just different. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
You don’t need our help, you have already owned the mid engine V8 and the GT 12 cylinder. The F8 and 812 are simply the last of their time, both best in class in terms of development. Which one thrills you more to drive? The Mid engine or the GT? I am in a similar position, I own a 488 Spider that I really enjoy but I have F8 Spider on order as I wanted the last Ferrari without electricity. I also have a 599GTB as I love the GT12 platform and the 599 also is still a little “analog” or unrefined in addition to being beautiful, thrilling and scary. We are all blessed to have these choices
I’ve started a late run hoarding mid engine ICEs, and it’s not about investment, it’s about the experience. I drive my cars and the enjoyment factor is through the sky fantastic. The 458 spider and incoming F8 spider will be keepers. The V-10 STO also looks like it will also stick around, though it is far more track oriented than most people think. I missed out in the 812 GTS (mistake), but on the list for the last V-10. That’s good enough for me.
Having had both , the 488 spider and now an F8 spider I would definitely get the F8 if you have the chance especially if you can grab it at MSRP. It’s a no brainer. The sound is definitely not as good but looks , warranty and performance is definitely a plus IMHO. Best , Kirk.
Personally, I think you should pass on the F8 Spider and ask your friend to sell it to me. Seriously though, if you have the option to get that F8 for MSRP, I'd take it.
I had a 458 spider and loved it, but the F8 is so much better in every way other than the sound. Go for it!
i'd go 812, if you had a 488/458 and didn't like them enough to keep them then the 812 is the most diff
Thanks to all of you! Guess I have to decide by this week! I'd have the F8 Spider Under MSRP cause my friend owe a favor to me He would not use it cause he already has SF 90 and Urus. If I go for the 812 he will keep F8 too. Moreover, this is the nice part, I specd it for him! So the car has all the options I'd decided!
Not in Europe. Our market is not as inflated as the US market. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The F8 is quite a step forward, just like the 812 is over the F12. If you like the mid engine cars, the F8 is the car to get. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I drove the 488 back to back with the F8 when I was trying to decide between the two. I found the F8 a substantial step ahead in almost all areas (except perhaps engine noise!). As you would know from the experience of owning your prior cars the 812 is a considerably different proposition. So I suppose, it comes down to which kind of Ferrari you'll enjoy more?
I went from 2018 488GTB to F8 Tributo. They're similar, but the upgrades on the F8 make it worth it. I loved my 488 but it was just missing several things that should have been on that year vehicle. The F8 has all the updates that make it compare well with actual modern cars of the same price point. The AC controls and vents a lone make it better....lol 488 GTB F8
Have a listen to the F8 . If you think its ok go for it. 458 owners always comment on the 488GTB lack of music. Well the 488 GTB does have its own music just like the 488 PISTA. However the F8 moot.
Looks like the guard to the front bumper isn't aligned properly ? This has been evident on several F8's. Get them to fix it when you go in for your first service. Just be prepared as they wont change the oil just the pollen filter. 5 minute job. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's just a reflection where the two panels meet but I have seen some of the ones on here in question and know what you're talking about.
I prefer the latest tech, HP and updates over the factory exhaust sound. If engine noise was my only qualifier I would have kept my 812 rather than a rear engine model. I also have a V10 Huracan EVO that gives me the sound sensations I need.
In my opinion there is a big difference between the 488 and the f8. The 488 seems more GT. The f8 is rock solid and sharp... Or sharper. It seems to have a very narrow focus. It also has a dang pista engine. Which makes it a rocket ship. In my opinion... Despite the shared unibody... They did a pretty remarkable job making the f8 something other than a 488 mark ii.
Like with the 458 vs. 488, the technical gains offered by the F8 outweigh the lack of sound. The F8 is just that much better.
I’ve often thought about how to say what you just said. Objective, factual, and not inflammatory in any way. Bravo.
The F8 is just too quiet. Summer street dining over here. Just seeing the F8 go past whereas you can here the 488 GTB or Pista coming and then you see all the heads turn. Yes I appreciate the extra HP on the F8 over the 488 but I dont believe on street driving have I used more then 65% of its ability. V10
