Can anyone who knows for certain please answer what tire choices are available on the 488? Do buyers still request a specific brand as they did when ordering a bespoke 450 (Pirelli, Bridgestone, Michelin)?

MPSS and PZeros are the options. I'll order the MPSS as I hate the PZeros. And why put a Chinese tyre on an Italian exotic;)

Ferrari and Pirelli just seem to make sense.

AFAIK Pirelli is on Chinese hands now and so is part of the production.

As for the tyres themselves, I think the MPSS performs much better on all accounts.

You must specify Michelins if you want them. By far the better tire.

You can specify. As has been said, mpss are by far the better tire, and, I believe, the tire Ferrari supplies on cars given to press for review.

I never specified anything and I built my car spec by spec from the factory...
when you go with the upgraded wheel option. they come with michelin pilot sport cups. there was no other option. maybe on the regular wheel, you can choose pirelli, I have yet to see pirelli's on a 488. the 5 I've seen all michelin.

Car comes with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires

It will be a significant upgrade to go to Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. They are available in Ferrari spec

By the way... Standard tire size on 488 is identical to Porsche 991 GT3, which comes standard with MPSC2 ... It's several seconds a lap faster than OEM tires on any track... If Ferrari had fitted those as standard it would have been even faster around Fiorano than what is recorded. I think they've held it back slightly... 458 Speciale comes with MPSC2 - the difference between them will become wven bigger uf you give MPSC2 to 488GTB and let them play on same rubber

Pirelli PZero Trofeo should also be available in these sizes. On the 991 GT3 they are even slightly faster than the MPSC2...

MPSC2 is my preference... They have much better durability than Trofeo's from what I've heard at only fractional difference in perfoemance
