When they start rolling out allocations I'll likely sign up for the 488 Spider. Love the Blu Corsa color...but not thrilled about that against black interior. Was wondering about Cuoio interior...many of you give this sort of thing a lot of thought and wondering about your impressions were of that, or other, color combos with Blu Corsa. Was also thinking the entire dash, upper and lower, would be Cuoio. Does anyone have an upper dash in Cuoio, are there "glare" issues? Thanks!
I had Cuoio in my Grigio Silverstone 458. Absolutely loved it. My upper dash was black. I personally would not do Cuoio with Corsa Blue. I far prefer black with the blue interior accents. JMO
Problem is two different blues might clash. Blue and sabbia (very light beige) is always good (I have that on my Maserati Granturismo), but it shows all the dirt. There's something about blue and black that just doesn't sit right to my eye.
+1. It just doesn't pop for me. What about bordeaux? I know its not the most appealing to some, but there is a Speciale in a light metallic blue with bordeaux leather and I think it looks amazing. Its over on the Speciale Picture thread.
My suggestion for a different combination would be Bordeaux seats, dash and door panels (console as well, if there is a color choice on the new console) with Blu Scuro or black carpets. The Bordeaux would be dark enough, I believe, not to cause windshield glare problems. If you were concerned about glare, I would go with an all-Blu Scuro dash (or two-tone, with the lower portion in Bordeaux) and Blu Scuro carpets. Fred
I think beige or cuoio with blue, while beautiful, is too middle-of-the-road Continental GT. I agree that a blue 488 spider would be awesome, but I would go with a charcoal alcantara interior with contrasting black leather. The alcantara gives a totally different feel to the interior, and it is very practical too: it wears less than leather. Lots of carbon with it, and light grey stitching. The charcoal is, BTW, lighter grey than you would at first think. It would be classy and original. IMvHO. Onno
Some good thoughts all..many thanks...will play with the configurator, though it doesn't have the Blu Corsa color.
Cuoio is classic, but as the exterior will be bright, it may not be best as cuoio is also on the bright side. How about iroko or terra bruchatta (no way I spelled that right) which are browner than cuoio but decidedly not black. Iroko with blu scuro stitching would be subtle but classy. The blue is a great looking colour on the car but due to its brightness, I think it's difficult to match. Normally I like cuoio with blue but I don't think it would work with this shade and I don't think red would either. Charcoal may be good and instead of colours play with materials. I remember seeing a Tailor Made car with a brown interior - mixture of leather and alcantara and may even have had some quilting. Looked absolutely stunning!!
Over the weekend I was playing around with the with color combos on the Ferrari site. Attached is a pdf of what I had saved. Blu Corsa with Cuoio combo. I chose to keep the dash black to avoid glare on the windshield. I think Blu Corsa / Cuoio looks fantastic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Charcoal which is actually a medium grey would look nice with Corsa - Here's a pic of my ex 458 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very nice! The contrast is to go with a darker color to play off the lighter exterior color. One of the browns probably works best. You can probably do the dash in the brown and not worry too much about reflections. FYI I have a car with a Cuoio dash and while it does reflect a little bit, it doesn't bother me at all. It could be simply the seating position or maybe just me.
What about doing an interior in something different, like the new light grey Tortora? That with one of the blue stitchings could look very smart against the BC. You could also spice it up with doing dark blue inserts in Blu Sterling or Blu Scuro etc. You will have something unique and beautiful that way.
I think I'll have to either go to NY or Italy when the time comes since the colors on the screen are so distorted. At least I have about 2 years or so to think about it! I also like the Titanio over black/bordeaux scheme as I did with my F12. Very classy and shows the lines of a car very well. I just keep going back to the idea that a mid-engined V8 Ferrari should have a "louder" more dramatic color than the Titanio...but maybe not.
I have rooso corsa over beige on 458. Beautiful but 10x more work to keep clean than black on F355 and 360 spider. Light colors are much more work if you dive the car alot.
Gorgeous...is it just the lighting, because it has a brownish-chocolate look to me? Thanks for posting the pix!
I also see the brown-chocolate look to the color- is that how it looks in real life or is it just how it comes across in those photos? It looks fantastic. That would be hard for me to move away from!
