Does anyone know the static and drive by levels in dB for a 488 Spider please?? Some UK tracks are very strict on sound so need to know before booking. Thanks
Last time this was asked there was no answer ! But its a turbo so that should be easier and look for previous track day photos for 488s - I think FOC go to Goodwood & Snetterton and used to go to Silverstone - pretty sure unless its a real quiet day you should be good
Funnily enough I've now got a former 488 owner in the room with me as I write and he reckons 103 static (105ish for Pista)
Haha two exactly opposite answers! That's the problem, people think turbo is so quiet but I've heard different things. The trackday has an 87dB static and 98 drive by so that doesn't seem like it will be possible
87 dB is incredibly low - I wonder which road cars could satisfy that... it all depends on the conditions though, there is some significant difference between idle and full throttle; French homologation for the 488 states 105 dB at 4,000 rpm. 98 drive by seems reasonable (many locations ask for 95 dB and it typically does not raise any issue with the 488).
I drive at PIR quite a bit and they do 98 and my 458 is fine so your 488 should be fine too. I got kicked off with my Huracan EVO (which has its valves pinned open) which was 104 so I doubt the 488 is anywhere close to that loud.
