I recently had the dealer install the Novitec Valved Exhaust on my new 488. Attached a video; While it's always hard to capture the sound accurately, i can confirm that it is a major improvement over OEM, especially under acceleration.

The Novitec switchtronic valve controller is great too and remembers your last setting (open / closed) after car power is turned off; Very Very happy.

BTW - Yes, i know - i should have removed the charge cable but thought the video is important enough to share, despite my operator error ;) Don't beat me up.

Shout out to Alex @ TAG Motorsports for hooking me up with the Novitec exhaust:

Woo Hoo! Glad you love it and we were able to get it out to you quickly!

Isnt the switchtronic amazing? So clean and simple. And the Valved Exhaust System is a great sound!

Yes, the switchtronic is great - i was concerned that you would have to turn it 'open' each time you start the car, but it keeps its last settings - very pleased with the choice. Definitely have to mate the exhaust with the controller.

:) I know, right. Haha. I was thinking of adding 'God Bless America', but it essentially did the same, without the words ;)

Sounds great Robert - thanks for posting.

My 488 isn't due until May, but this looks like a must have extra.

The valve controller on my 458 reverted to stock when the ignition was switched off, and so this would be a big improvement.

I was thinking about adding 200 cell cats as well, but not sure it will be necessary. Also quite costly!

I consulted with the dealer on the cats and they recommended against it to avoid any kind of warranty issue down the road; While i know it may be hard to proof that a potential issue was due to the cats, i dont want to even have the discussion.

Frankly, with just the exhaust, i was severely impressed. A good friend and fellow F-Chatter drove the car and shared the same sentiment. I looked at the IPE one as well but decided to stay as close to OEM as possible with Novitec. The welds / quality and fit n finish are impeccable.

Yes - the warranty issue is definitely worth bearing in mind.

I have spoken to a specialist over here, and he also said that Novitec should be my first choice.

I love the novitec exhaust on my 488 too. Best sounding exhaust ive ever heard.

The valves remain closed with race mode = best sounding LOL
