Super close on 18’ 488 gtb. Need help on Novitec Exhaust system and or options. Is it worth it? How much of a difference does it make inside cabin? Trading out of a 14’ GT3 so sound is important to me. Amazing car though and so so fast. Also really enjoy the better ride. Looking forward to any input. Not expecting this to sound as good as normally aspirated but 8k to me is way out of my comfort zone.
    THANK you [emoji120]

As an initial, perhaps final step, unplug the bypass valves and enjoy the symphony. You may find the sound sufficiently pleasing.

Get the Novitec valveless X pipe. Life changing for the car (I have it on my Pista. Wish I did it sooner).

I have the FI system with Mase Tune. It's so damn rowdy and constant fire balls.

The stock system in race mode sounds pretty amazing to me. Live with it before you make any changes.

Are there any tutorials on how to do this? Will it cause any CEL or other codes?

I may do sport cats as well after my warranty is out, for more upper tach end sound/volume, but just the x pipe made a world of difference. It focused the sound, gave it a much better tone and raised the pitch that it now howls when I drive through the tunnels where it sounded pretty lackluster before. 100% better sound.

I also got it in inconel in case it made any difference (supposed to be a little higher pitched).

Dealer, yes. Ordered and installed. Just so they know what’s been done…

Drop the rear diffusser, unplug the vacuum lines from the bypass valves, then plug the vacuum lines with golf tees. No CEL's and sounds great.

Agree with ViperJoe…I did the same, plugged the vacuum lines so exhaust is open all the time below 3k rpm. Other than that you will need to do either 200 cell cats or no cats with down pipes and rear exhaust and you’ll have to tune the ECU thus zero warranty if any is left on the car. However the stock exhaust with the vacuum lines plugged is straight through basically from the cats anyway.

I came from a 991 GT3 too and the 488 doesn’t have the wailing sound a GT3 with side mufflers removed

With initial research I’m down to either unplug. Akropivic or the Novitec . The car has been amazing so far. Enjoying the better ride, wider, faster, stunning looks, and engine bay on show!

Picked up my 488 last week and had the forza exhaust valve controller fitted. Transforms the sound. Happy for now until I think it’s not loud enough
