As I come across 458s during my Copart window shopping I'll post 'em in this thread. Hopefully it will be a short thread. I have no affiliation with Copart or any cars I post. I post this info simply as a PSA for anyone that might be interested today and as a record of the vehicle for future buyers. First one IIRC... http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e1s1&lotId=29165981 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
anyone know how much this one ended up going for? was thinking about jumping on it. got a buddy thats a certified ferrari tech and he said repair costs would be anywhere between $30k to $50k if he was to do it for me for free =) this of course is him just looking at the photos.
I Googled the VIN to see if it popped up for sale elsewhere and came across an interesting tidbit. This vehicle was the last one (by VIN at least) that needed the heat shield repair. http://nhthqnwws112.odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/docservlet/Artemis/Public/Recalls/2010/V/RCONL-10V389-8477.pdf Image Unavailable, Please Login
The estimates of your friend are about right , the iaai.com auction sold one also with a little more damages and the repairs are being done at this moment also here is a 07 f430 that they are having there https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/VehicleDetails.aspx?auctionID=11278765&itemID=12132511&RowNumber=3
good choice !i had some experience buying from Copart..I bought salvage motorcycles for export in Europe.Copart asked me to use a broker service http://www.easyexport.us/ as i wanted to bid in Alabama state that required some dealer licence

I agree that car is heading way over 50k.I'm surprised to see salvaged 458's first off the warranty is gone 2nd Ferrari may not provide the parts due to the salvage title and the vin is required .Normally current model ferraris are purchased by Ferrari due to Ferrari does not want a car glued together.I think it's a big waste of time.If you can't afford one buy a Toyota
There was a thread a month or so ago about an accident and the car had an identical interior. The reports came back that the driver was OK. It was a thread started by the Mayor and his disgust with Jalopnik (sp?).

Driver and Passenger from Potomac, MD walked away. Car was upside down on the center divider of the 495 freeway at the American Legion Bridge. Great crash integrity.
I was wondering when the car would show up here. I remember pulling up right after the accident. Very surreal.

Wonder what that will sell for. As bad as salt water is, hard to imagine there isn't a ton of valuable parts on that thing.
The thing that always surprises me about these cars is that whatever the damage originally, they way they are stored, it finishes the job. I would have thought the insurers would have a process to store inside pending auction or just send them to a vendor to part out. Even minor effort could preserve enough value to justify the cost it seems.
