Hi guys anyone know what 458 spiders are selling wholesale? Just curious. Thinking about picking up a 2012 spider. Worried about depreciation a tad. Thinking I may keep the prancing pony for a year or so. I have a record of only keeping my 2nd car for a year or more. Thanks in advance.

    Low 200s for a 2012 Spyder.

Depreciation will depend alot more on miles than time.

If you are worried about depreciation, then you probably shouldn't be buying the car at this point. Case in point, the 360 has about hit the bottom of the depreciation curve. The F430 is still going down although the 2005-2006 model years appear to be stabilizing (2007-2009's will go down more). The 2010-2011 458's can be found in the 180's to 190's and they probably have more to go. Again, these are just my observations and in no way am I an expert on this so keep this in mind when reading this. I recently sold my 430 and bought a 2013 458 Spider. I know my spider is going to depreciate as did my 430. Again, just my unscientific, baseless opinion.

Just buy the best one you can find and make your best deal. We are going into the off season (here in the northeast at least) so maybe you can get yourself a slightly better deal. But if you procrastinate for too long, you will lose it. It happens all the time.
I agree that if you are worried about depreciation then maybe a 458 isn't for you. You are going to let it sit in the garage and not drive it because you are worrying about putting mileage on it. What fun is that? Consider the F430 then.

Fwiw , I was gonna trade ( last month ) my Nero / Nero spider 2012 , 335 list with 18,000 miles and the offers I was getting were 185-190 range. I purchased it with 4,000 miles for 265 about 2.5 years ago. I hope this helps , best , Kirk.

6k miles, tan Daytona seats, led steering wheel, carbon fiber on rear where ferrari logo is. I can't remember what that part is called. 218k. Going to pull trigger today, I think.

Had an f430 for 8 months put 5k on it and sold for a McLaren. Purchased it for 118k and sold it on consignment for 108, net 100k. But I also put like 7k worth of upgrades in it. Just sold McLaren after year and half of ownership. It had 2k miles on it and on out another 5k on that one.

Buy it. Sure the 458 spider will be a $185k car in 4-5 years. But still brilliant.

The most significant depreciation amount is going to come from how much you drive the car. In my opinion if the car is priced relatively well in the market then pull the trigger. Enjoy!

Just traded in my 2012 458 spider with lots of miles (29k) so, price was significantly lower than average. I also bought a brand new 488 spider, so probably got a decent trade in. My 458 was red, loaded with options, but due to mileage only fetched $185k. I would assume that with a normal 15-20% upmark, you should be able to buy it for around $215-$220k from a reputable Ferrari dealer.

Each car varies on color, options, and mainly condition. Its hard by auction standards to see if a car was in so-so condition vs excellent. So best to use the pricing as a gauge and try to find the nicest example you can afford or want to spend.

I'm going to echo everyone on here.

Drive the car a lot; lose a lot. Drive the car less; lose less.

True, but for me driving my 458 Spider a lot was easy, it's a car. I prefer "art" be in my home, not my garage, I reserve that space for cars. 12K miles in 16 mos, and loved every minute of it, not to mention the people I met along the way. That has value to me, more value than the additional depreciation, but I know I'm in the minority in that regard.

    Hi Jim,

I totally agree. I did 7k miles on my 458 spider in 18 months and lost $35k in depreciation when I traded it in. However, It was worth every cent!!! Ferraris are not meant to be "garage queens", they are meant to be driven...
