Just installed the carbon floor and sills in my Speciale....
Looks like Grigio Silverstone. That's the problem, it's a great pic but looks like the photographer has enhanced it so I'm not sure. Don't me wrong, I had GS on my old 599 GTB and it's a fabulous colour, but would prefer if enhanced pics be noted as such.
Looks like someone cranked up the "clarity" control in Lightroom too much... which accentuates contrast in gray areas... a little heavy handed.
Looks like Grigio Ferro to me. I have a similar picture of my Scuderia in Grigio Ferro. It just pops on some photos. But of course this is just a guess.
Even with the "overenhancement," I don't think it's Grigio Ferro... Gene-O and I are the only forum members that have been identified (so far) to have a Ferro Speciale... No matter how I enhanced my photos, or what light I'm in, I've never seen my color look like that one... It's gotta be something else, what do you think Gene-O?
That is Ferro but I wish everyone would stop playing with the contrast, it may make a nicer pic but it is not representative of reality.

I think the picture looks like they used a polarizer. That helps cut down glare. It sometimes results in those rainbow artifacts you see in the headlights and other glass elements. I think that's what many of you are reacting to. I like a polarizer for cars shot during the day light because glare bothers me. This is what it would look like if you were standing on the street, wearing your polarized sun glasses and this gorgeous 458 Speciale zoomed by. I understand everyone's comments about enhanced photographs, I have two small points: 1. We don't know if this picture was taken for the purpose of accurately representing that color. Perhaps it was just for fun and it got posted here. 2. Given all camera phones and filters everyone has at their disposal, I don't think we are likely to see many truly representative photos on line. We could ask pictures also include a list of edits/modifications to the image. Or we could ask the owner of a particular color car to take a picture and not edit it. But even then, the camera or iPhone is doing some adjustment automatically. The best way to see a color is in person and in different lighting. This becomes a bit of a philosophical thing for me because I think certain photos should more accurately reflect the feeling of the moment rather than being just photo accurate. In any event that car in that picture is stunning.
I have seen the same car when I was in Brussels, Belgium a few weeks back: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1023780157678074&set=a.1023778091011614.1073741829.100001382975842&type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1023780167678073&set=a.1023778091011614.1073741829.100001382975842&type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1023780177678072&set=a.1023778091011614.1073741829.100001382975842&type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1023780211011402&set=a.1023778091011614.1073741829.100001382975842&type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1023780221011401&set=a.1023778091011614.1073741829.100001382975842&type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1023780234344733&set=a.1023778091011614.1073741829.100001382975842&type=3&theater
For some reason this was even more difficult than getting rid of the Scuderia. I am sure I will regret it one day. Image Unavailable, Please Login
