Hi all. Any one tried this? For Ferrari 458 Italy spider bluetooth music module modified bluetooth playback wire speed ECU upgrade https://a.aliexpress.com/_vNA7XL I have emailed the guys to find out more but wonder if anyone has installed one. They seem new as I search all the time for these types of things on Ali. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Please update us with what you find out! I've gotten spoiled with not plugging in my phone to all my other cars
Invery connects every single time and also always gives me the playlist. Bovee was very inconsistent with both.
I have an Invery but it does not work albeit connecting on its own it’s sometimes glitches and I cannot forward songs …. Bovee works perfectly other than having to flick the Bluetooth on and off each item. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I've tried three Bovees, one Invery (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G3893JY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) , and recently CarPro (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017RWJ46O?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details). None of them work reliably in my 2014 458 Spider. I think it's a power issue. The device goes into some sort of sleep/hibernate mode, when you start the 458 the infotainment does not see it so you end up on the FM setting. You then need to unplug/re-plug the bluetooth device to get it recognized by the infotainment center, then toggle over to the iPod setting. They all sit in my glovebox, next to my 2005 iPod Nano that works all the time. I would love to be proved wrong by other 458 owners and am happy to loan them out to my local SD friends. Wow. Surprised. I had 2 Bovee that were so inconsistent. This Invery has worked perfectly since January.
That seems to be the way, these devices work for some, but not all. I have taken the Bovees and Invery out of my 458 and put them in other cars and they worked perfectly. At their price point I am obviously willing to buy and test them, I just keep my expectations low. I am fortunate that I do not need to stream music or GPS off my phone, the basic infotainment center does both of those decently for me. It would be great to have reliable streaming solutions and some of these devices work for some people, but not all. My Portofino M order is in production and will have Apple Carplay and Android Auto. I can't wait to see how poorly they work.
I’m on my second Bovee and it works less than 10% of the time. I have tried all scenarios of plugging and unplugging. When it doesn’t work, my “iPod” light in the source selection flashes but cannot be selected.
do you mean you don’t need to turn Bluetooth off and back on for you to stream music through iPhone???
Exactly. It connects everytime. I just need to slide the radio input to ipod and it’s always connected.
wow, buying this right away! Best $69 ever if it works as suggested. @bball16 I'll report back. Thx a lot.
You should be good. Friends have gotten them and they all work. I’ve been streaming SIRIUS from my phone.
Definitely post an update after you try it for a few days. Keep your expectations low. The Invery worked as poorly in my 2014 458 Spider as did the three Bovees I tried. Typically when turning on my car the iPod option would be gone and i would be on FM. I would need to disconnect/reconnect the physical adapter to get the iPod option back in the infotainment center. Even more annoying since I usually have the right TFT screen on digital speedometer and not infotainment. After plugging the adapter back in I would then need to disconnect/reconnect bluetooth on my phone and then hit play on the playlist. Simply not reliable enough to continue using.
I’ve spent a small fortune upgrading totally my hifi in the 458 with new speakers, amps and sub-woofers. I’m using the Invery Bluetooth which works every time. However the big learning is that Ferrari Bluetooth MUST be turned off if you don’t want it to glitch. Do not connect Ferrari Bluetooth to your phone at the same time to make calls. We’ll this is an interesting piece of advice. Like the others I’ve tried several of the Bovee like devices and they all had problems connecting consistently. But I’ve always had the Ferrari Bluetooth on: I’ve never considered that the car’s Bluetooth might be interfering with connectivity. So I just turned off the cars Bluetooth and we’ll see how it works… Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
I too upgraded my 458 spider stereo. Had best installer in northeast here install new door speakers with no new holes in the car. He made a template to mount new Morel speakers to and the custom bracket screws into OEM holes. Can be reversed no trace back to original. He made custom door tweeter pods which look OEM and use OEM bracket and no holes so again nothing destructive. Can be reversed no trace. He then built a tuned dual sub box for behind seats. Wrapped it in matching Ferrari leather and stitching with logo embroidered in middle. It’s stunning. Inside he put in a Bluetooth capable amp to power all speakers. Now I can stream Spotify by simply playing a song. It auto connects and works seamless with Ferrari phone functions. Sub box can also be removed to restore to OEM no trace. Cost over 8 grand but it solved my Bluetooth problem, is both crystal clear and louder than anyone would want it even with roof down. I feel like I have a whole new car. Definitely a different solution from a Bluetooth adapter but the entire setup was worth it.
We’ll gents… I’ve had the car Bluetooth on since I got the car and the Bovee was as reported by others, hit or miss. So based on the above suggestion, I have unpaired my phone to the car and all of a sudden the Bovee works perfectly. I now connect the Bovee when I get in the car, start the car and my phone immediately connects thru the Bovee, each and every time. Sirius plays, my song collection plays perfectly. I don’t use the car’s phone function anyway so I don’t miss that at all. Looks like one BT must be interfering with the other. So I hope others have the same experience. Interesting update, I am tempted to try again. Can you clarify "connect the Bovee?" Does that mean you physically disconnect/reconnect the Bovee each time? If I remember my biggest problem was having the infotainment recognize the Bovee (or the other two adapters I've tried) at startup to the point that there was no iPod option in the menu.
