456 window gap repair

I followed your instructions and have a brand spanking new sealed window. I added some black electric tape on top to cover the joints.

Yes! I wouldn't mind this as well. Tried some others which lasted just few days as the glass rubs them into bits....

 

Michael, this is a fantastic piece of information. Can you a bit more specific about the molding you used? Brand, model number, etc? I want to try this but would like to get it right the first time. Thanks.

sent the regulator to F1 Imports, they took 2 days and sent me fixed regulator (cost $250). Got it stitched back up again at Omega motorsports. Good as new. Total cost $600

 

Do you think it was that material?

After inspecting my window a few min. ago, I honestly can say I cannot figure out how he got this to work: Mine is a flat tube-like with insert flanges.
IF he just inserted the two side/flanges into some grove and hoped for the best then I couldn't say...but seems he pulled it off.

At $15 bucks you get an inexpensive chance.

 

No, what mibi had used was from "M-D Building Products 3723 Garage Door Bottom Rubber" earlier version with softer compound before what you can find at Home Depot Now. They have since change material compound and it is not the same anymore. You can give it try though.

LOL! Many people in the import scene use them as a chin spoiler (AKA Home Depot Racing Chin Spoiler) because they are cheap and easy to install (Just Tape & Clip).

Here you can see they sell this on EBay which is the earlier version of M-D Garage bottom:

Badly adjusted/worn regulators can't be fixed by plugging gaps....

 

but the electrical tape addition gives it that look of genius..............

 

If you Google 456 Window Mechanism replacement + granucci there is a Ferrari_456_Window_Mechanism_Replacement_Instructions.pdf with a section on the window adjustment marks IF you have the upgraded mechanism.

Hi.
Is the light switch on a 456M in the lock itself.
There is a microswitch on the lock striker that controls the window drop on door opening.

I have removed all rubber gaskets around the door and cannot see any other switch or ‘plunger mechanism’.

any help appreciated.

I have not been able to identify any wiring for the door which shows an open / close switch
