Re headlight lifting motor. Hard to get for a reasonable price. Volvo 480 motor also hard to get, Anyone know if another makers motor would fit which Ferrari sourced? Would be a benefit for all flip up headlight motors for most models.

    Many thanks

I cannot trace a comparable Merc part though I'm sure you're right. If you have a number or model reference, that would be great. Thanks

Anyone has any solution on a 550 multi function warning light display unit? Really expensive for a new unit. Can it be repaired?

    Regards

Rear hub bearing assembly on a 456 is p/n 157901 which crosses to a Maserati 3200GT. Both cars use the same part #. Replaced the LR hub on my 456 using the Maser-boxed part, it is 100% identical to the Ferrari item and was less $.

Well... depending on what's wrong with it there are several places that will repair LCD displays (we are talking about an LCD display, right?).

For starters: are lines missing through the display or is it completely out? In short: it can most likely be repaired but will require the removal of the instruments pod (I am not immediately familiar with the 550 setup, but I seem to remember the display is built into the tach)

This part controls coolant delivery to the heater core (cabin heat) and works in sync with the temperature selection knob located in the center console (456, 550, not sure about 575)

Ferrari part 61079000 (ELECTRO-MAGNETIC VALVE) is interchangeable with Bosch part #1.147.412.013. As that Bosch part is becoming increasingly difficult to locate, cross-reference with Bosch 1.147.412.008 - commonly used in BMW and MB applications and easily found online.

Also, oftentimes the culprit for the malfunctioning of this item (= no cabin heat) is actually the inner valve component. R/R just inner valve with the following MB part: 000-835-06-44-MBZ.

For additional information refer to this thread: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/brrrr-no-heat-in-the-cabin.563083/

Not really a "parts" question but Im looking for a 575 cover for my car and I called the collection in miami, ferrari of ft lauderdale, and ferrari of west palm. Nobody can get me one, they only have a showroom cover for $600 which is just basically a sheet. Im looking for an original cover with the steering wheel and seat covers for a 575 with daytona seats. Do any of you know where I could source that? Thanks

E-bay and the 550 sets are identical. There was a 550 set above in Ferrari Parts and Collectibles recently.

As Taz says, EBay, just be patient. Every couple months they seem to pop up. May have to purchase the seats and wheel cover seperately and you should be able to find all for around the $600.
At one point Eurospares in the UK had an attractive price, might be worth a look.

In the process of building up the heads on my 575 engine.

Ferrari want £255 plus post for the 48 valve stem seals, and eurospares £199 plus post.

They are a fairly common looking item so did my research. Their size is 7/9.8/13.2 - 10 which is exactly the same as many VW, alfa etc etc stem seals. Elring are the leading supplier of such seals.

Managed to buy 50 genuine Elring seals for £24 inc post !!!!!!! and they fit perfectly :)

Part numbers shown on the attached pic. The 612, SA and 550 use the same seals as the 575 not sure on the 456 though. Image Unavailable, Please Login

    New fuseboards for 456, 550, 575 models.
Since 2007 I'm producing new motherboards for fuseboards for the following models : TR, testarossa, 512tr old model board, 328, all mondials, 400i, 412 and F40.
I'm willing to produce also boards for 456 (old model) and 456 (new model), 550 and 575.
I purchaged an OEM 456M board to copy the internal wiring diagram and to measure all components like female, male and relais connectors.
For the old model 456 board I just need to find the internal diagram. If someone is in the need for a NEW 456 old model board,we can make a deal. A discount on the new board of 200€ when you can loan me your old board for 1 week. Arrangements for shipping cost can be discused.
For the 550 board someone promissed me to send his old one for copying that diagram.
For the 575 board a verification can be done to see if it has a 456 or 550 internal diagram.

This thread is worth more than you can imagine. These cars would border on impossible to keep going without all these cross-references to the common parts used by numerous manufacturers. Any subscription fee for FerrariChat disappears like smoke on the wind the day you get to buy some Alfa or MB parts that cost 1/10 the Ferrari cost if they are even available at all from Ferrari. NLA appears to be the corporate motto.

Anybody else wonder what the guys in the Ferrari restoration shop sit around and talk about when their own parts aren't available? Hey, Guido, isn't that the same O2 sensor from the Alfa Sud? No, Luigi, that one is from the Renault. There ought to be sub-titles on your restoration documentation!!
