The question is, sould i put an NGT system on the car or leave it as it is. Comments would be appreciated from those who heard the car last weekend or indeed anyone who has a sensible opinion.
I think that the exhaust sounded better on Sunday when it had a few miles in it. It seemed to have more of a bite and was much more raspy than on Friday. Of course, if you want to keep up with a de-cat Capristo then you're gonna have to change it Stewart! http://www.capristo.de/en/index-en.htm - there's one for the F430.....
Thought as standard is sounded pretty good - a lot deeper than a standard 360/355, and that was just at standstill - didn't have chance to catch up to you to hear it at full chat !! What's available for the 430 at the moment ? Is NGT the challenge exhaust ? Rick
If you change the standard exhaust, would'nt it void the warranty? I recall reading/hearing somewhere, that Ferrari UK send round a chap who takes notes of any vehicles that have had modifications done to them. So if a warranty claim is made, they reject it.
It only becomes an issue if the warranty fault is DIRECTLY attributable to the exhaust change, bear in mind that the franchised dealers sell sports exhausts as well
Trouble is, warranty claims can often lead to argument even when the situation is squeaky clean with absolutely nothing changed from factory. Change the exhaust at a non-approved dealer and you could find yourself arguing for the rest of your days. The few 430's I've heard sound great. And has been mentioned, exhausts change tone a lot over time. Also, different makers are bound to come out with different systems (Tubi was the obvious choice for 355s a couple of years ago - now it's Capristo etc). Enjoy it, spend the money on petrol for now (and some sponge for the walls of you garage ), and see what gives on the 430 exhaust market over the next 12mths or so.
I agree with Steve. Havn't heard your car but have done many miles in convoy with a 430, as a passenger in it and it passes my house regularly. In each occasion it shows a marked improvement over the standard 360 set up. My initial impression and still that after 4 months or so is that the 430 standard set up is excellent and does not need to be changed.
Yep I agree u must put a Tubi Exhaust on ur 430. When i got my car back in April there was no after market exhaust for it. Then Tubi devolped a system and i had it fitted on to the car. Not only does it sound deeper but the Chrome tips look much better than the standard matt finish.
