Yes, it was. I would not make a radical change like that. I was expecting black too, when I went to look at the car for purchase. Condition aside, brown was a nice surprise. Center console brown leather is original. Entire upper and lower of dash and instrument cluster wrap are new brown leather. All dash and vent hard plastics are brown and original. In classic 70s Italian quality, it's actually about 5 shades of brown, all slightly different, each plastic type. The new dash and center console colors match more than the OEM did. My interior guy has a source for incredible hides of all types. He can match that 70s Mercedes dash leather perfectly. He's been doing this for 40 years. Great stories of celebrities buying 930s and Carreras from Hollywood Sports car back in the day and immediately coming to him from the show room to pull all the plaid and Pasha interiors and have them replaced w/ black leather. He kept all the old interiors and now they are back in favor, he's re-installed a bunch.
Into the paint booth Monday! Some signifiant cracking damage to the under bumper facia and spoiler, looked like repeat smaller curb/driveway hits, vs. an accident. Repaired original piece. Bumpers out for repair/re-finishing. Nose and hood stripped, no sign of an accident, just significant stress cracking in the paint, especially on the A-pilars and around the headlights, a small low-speed ding on top of the nose. Basically being painted from the nose and blended through the doors. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153868147711679&set=a.132354976678.134829.617951678&type=1&theater
