Hello All I'm looking for a genuine 400i steering wheel and horn button. Can anyone assist?? Also a period stereo. Jim
I have an extra one. Brett has it in Canada. I might get it back. Not sure at the rate things are going
Hi David Thanks for the reply, I just bought the car, haven't got all the details yet or the car. I'm pretty sure it is 1980 400i manual. I will check the details and come back to you and Bundas. Greatly appreciate your efforts and thank you. Jim
Hello All Ferrari 400GTi My Chassis number is 30315 Engine number F101C 01100132 Also my car was retrimmed very badly. I need to retrim it to the correct colour. I'm looking for info on where I can find the correct interior colour for the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Copy of title, drivers license. Email/ fax to a Ferrari dealer and they will provide the factory order sheet. That will have the first sale and all you need
Hi Jim, That's helpful information - attached is a photo of the interior of 29895, it has the same wheel as yours would have had. I think many were fitted with Pioneer stereos in the UK. 30315 was ordered Blu Ribot with a Beige interior. If you Contact Tony Willis at the Maranello Concessionaires Archive he will help you with colour codes, etc([email protected]). May I ask in which country is the car located? I have it as a RHD in my database, manual 400s are rare in RHD. Also, please post pictures in due course. David Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello David How are you? Thank you for the reply. My car was delivered to Australia new and I am the second registered owner. It was only one of 2 manual cars sold new in Australia, so I believe. I plan to try to contact the original owner but have not had any luck as yet. It is a manual car, black with gorgeous bodywork, lights and bright aluminium trim. The inside is another story though. I want to make it right as I am a little fussy! I will post lots of photos through my interior re trim as I am a Trimmer by trade and have trimmed many Ferraris. I'm chasing a model number of a stereo If you could help me with that and I do believe it would be either a Becker or a Pioneer. I will post some photos of the car tomorrow. Regards, Jim
Becker radios were an option I put a Grand Prix on mine(365). The 1980 has a pioneer. No Stereo back then. I think. Non in the 1976 for sure
Hi Jim, It's a very interesting car - that seems to have lived below the radar up to now! One of about 23 Series 1 RHD manual 400is, of which 2 seem to have been sold outside the UK - so you may well be correct that 2 were sold new in Australia. Here's the best picture I can find of an original stereo, from 31171. Definitely a Pioneer and looks "right" in the console setting. David Image Unavailable, Please Login
Any idea what model the stereo is? I would love to change mine back to something more original. Many on here think Becker is standard.
I have an alpine that would be perfect for an '84 or later car. It's the same model featured in that iconic ad featuring the Countach. This pic is without faceplate and knobs but I have all of these things. It suits the style of the later cars much better. Image Unavailable, Please Login
How do you remove the steering wheel? Specifically the black horn button. Thx, I have to fix the steering column multi switch.
Jim You should PM Tassie (Wayne) on this forum - as by the name he is local and owns a fleet of 400's and should be able to point you in the right direction. John
Hi John How are you? Thankyou, I have seen Wayne's name around here and I will contact him. I'm not a fully subscribed member as yet. Can I still PM him? Jim
Hi AK Jim You remove the horn button by simply popping it out, it has a wire o0n the back for the horn that you disconnect. The button is only held on with a spring clip. To remove the steering boss you might need a puller. you undo the centre steering wheel nut then fit the puller to remove the steering wheel and boss. Any further questions just ask. Jim
Looks great Jim, very clean! Hard to avoid the obvious comment about it being upside down...Australia...etc! cheers David
I don't know how to turn it around. I'll get my wife to turn it over...... Bodywork is great and I saved it from being turned into a Maserati 300S. The owner wanted to cut it up.
I'm also looking for a closeup photo of the sound deadening pad under the bonnet as I will have to fabricate one.
I had two extra hood pads made. If you cannot find what you want. They are an exact copy. $1,000 plus freight.
Hello David How are you? Here are 2 photos of my car. This time they are not upside down. Jim Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
