It is really quite interesting to see how many subtle changes were made during the production run of the 400 series. I'm looking through Godfrey Eaton's book The Complete Ferrari, which you should have if you don't, and you see the all different configurations of just the foglights: 1) 400gt with square lights behind the grille 2) Early 400i auto with round lights behind grille 3) 400i auto with square lights behind 4) later 400i with square lights but the grille is cut around them "Hey Luigie, thisa isn't the same parta as the last car." "Guiseppie how many times I hava to tell you; its a Ferrari, it donta matter. Itsa part of the mistique."
Dave: Looks like the last change on the 400s was made after the 82 models, with the foglights out from behind the grille, and some red rear lights or reflectors in the rear bumpers, along with the Fiat-style dash. Kraig
Red rear lights are rear fogs are they not? "Fiat-style" dash? That's a bit harsh don't you think? <g>
Fog lights they are! I kept pushing that switch on the dash, then running to the front of the car to look and see what lights I was turning on. Only <hu, hum!> after a post here was I told to inspect the REAR fog lights! Fiat? What Fiat?
