Selling a rebuilt large bearing water pump with brass impeller that fits the following models: 308QV, 328, Mondial QV, Mondial 3.2. This one is freshly rebuilt using the more reliable single piece seal and fitted with an original pulley (Ferrari part #121654). Note that this pump will fit other 3x8 models but the pulley is specific to the models listed above.

After a disappointing experience with multiple failed water pump rebuilds from a well known rebuilder, I decided to rebuild my own using the more modern single piece seal as discussed previously by Martin308GTB on this forum. That pump has been in service on my 328 since 2014 and has been completely trouble free. I have included photos of the water pump components pre-rebuild noting that the water pump housing gasket surface is in excellent condition with minimal pitting and the seal seat is free of corrosion. Note that the water pump housing was vapor honed and not painted.

I am offering the pump with pulley included for $575 + shipping.

I neglected to include the link to Martin's original thread where he described the process for converting the water pump housing and shaft to accept the single piece water seal. I have included it here for anyone that may be interested: 308 w/pump altering design old to new | FerrariChat. I can't believe that thread was from a decade ago Martin! Thank you for your wisdom! These rebuilt pumps have proven extremely reliable. I have rebuilt many with this technique and the only one that I am aware of that failed prematurely had been 'dry run' for a short time without coolant. Note that the single piece seal in this pump does not need to be 'broken in,' i.e. the shaft should only be rotated in the presence of coolant.

Really nice project and result! Along this line, does anyone know if the new pumps one gets from Superformance or other suppliers incorporate this modification? Or did I miss the obvious and that is; They don't and that's why this was done?

Thanks for the kind words Don, I appreciate it! Regarding your question, there have been a few discussions on Fchat regarding the Superperformance water pumps as well as other supplier offerings but I don't recall anyone discussing what made up the internals of these pumps, only that they were not rebuildable and it sounds as though folks had experienced variable results regarding quality and failure. I have included a a post from 2015 where there was some discussion regarding the various pumps available including the two versions offered by Superperformance, OEM Ferrari, and Nick Forza's pump: A new 328 Water Pump thread | FerrariChat

This is now sold. Thank you.

I have a few other original 3×8 waterpump cores that I am happy to rebuild with the single piece seal design if anyone is interested. Just let me know.
