    Some others are great; but... I don't like non-standard 2x3 (or 3x2) crops, I don't like obtuse PS (no HDR specifically... no matter how cool it looks... it looks fake)... and I don't like severely "fixing" a photo. That's just me. Stackhouse' photo looks pretty good, and fits in that set of rules I made for my own voting [ as well as really fitting the situational contest goal of light and shadow ] :). I know some people's cameras are shot by default (or otherwise unable) to shoot in 2x3 ratio...

    Went with Stackhouse as well. I love the feeling of the photo as well as the lighting.

    Yes, but another contest will start when the poll ends, then just take a picture during that 30 days and enter it.

    what was the topic? you should put that in the first post.
    from the other posts I gather it had to do with lighting... I voted for nthfinity, vincent355 and mityrare had great concepts as well

    I voted for Pars. Early mans emerges on the plains of Africa. When i first saw it I thought "Game over". Goes to show that what appeals to some.

    And Chris, I agree. Shadows and light could be broadly interpreted.

    Thanks. I thought it was a very interesting topic for a contest. Initially I had planned on doing something like this attachment, except Ferrari/car related. After I took the monkey pic though, I thought it turned out nicely.

    If you look closely at the very middle of that pic it would have won shadows and light. Oh well, not within the time frame.
