Yellow painted lights are French. The paint is easy to remove with used break fluid (used is better as it is slightly less corrosive).

These licence plates are French plate, but not in the correct color (more on that later): black plates were what was used ~30 years ago but the pattern was 0000 XX 00, subsequent pattern was 000 XXX 00 but the plate was not any-more back and white, current pattern is totally different. In order to keep the vintage look it was possible (not legal but tolerated) to use the most recent pattern on black plates.

For what it is worth, the last two digits used to indicate were the car was registered. This car is coming from Rouen in France.

Ang regarding the above licence plate, it was issued between 1995 and 1996 (ADF), car is obviosuly older but whenever the car was moving to another region, the licence plate was updated. Also I said Rouen, but code 78 cover a wider area (west of Paris roughly speaking).

For anyone who is interested in French license plates: http://www.station403.fr/site/sfpi/sfpi.htm

Back to the topic, the French owner of the car may also have registered it in Belgium in order to protect his driving licence...
