An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion

Bad call removing the posts. Even in their stupidity they add to the thread.

    You're killing me!

I agree, don't delete the troll posts because it leaves the follow up comments that don't get deleted without context.

post 672 shows a trial date of July 29, 2013...

doubt there would be any settlement by either party, there is nothing to settle except possesion of the the car

Maybe the original amount that was supposed to be paid to Kleve has now been paid to Kleve's estate thus allowing a settlement and ownership to be transferred to whomever the current possessor of the car is.

    I sincerly doubt that..

The simple reason is that while it was in Swatters hands the car appreciated significantly. No one in their right mind would settle for that small an amount. I sure wouldn't and I doubt the folks bringing suit in this case would either.

the legal fees in a case like this can reach over the $1,000,000 mark... no one entering a suit such as this is planing on settling...

Don't forget many original parts for the car remain in Kleve/O-Joe's possession. Those parts alone would be worth a lot in a settlement today.

    Pretty amusing

Ocean Joe hasn't chimed in, he usually does

So let me direct the question to him

    "Has there been a settlement?"

Don't need the details. A simple yes or no is adequate

    Thank you

Perusing the most recent information from that link, it would seem that the infamous Chris Gardner has recently arrived on the scene (i.e. crossclaim involving him on 10 July and something to do with a misrepresentation issue on 16 July).

Then there's some Motion to withdraw as counsel from 17 June.....

I know Mr.Gardner. I met him for the first time in 1988. I was in Miami for vacation and I bought a Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing from him. Later other five cars from his amazing collection. No problems..... He was very correct and honest. I can confirm a positive feedback.

I know Chris Gardner, a serious car collector. Well known for his discovering important cars long lost and and restoring them. He’s knowledgeable and owns early Ferrari , old Alfas and Bugatti cars. He races his cars I think for the past decades. Saw him win a class at Klaussen in Switzerland years ago, placed in Monaco ‘s Historic GP in an old Bugatti and raced at Spa with his ex-Moss 350GT Shelby. In his hunting he purchased that load of 375 Ferrari parts in the U.S that his long term gopher Ocean Joe is managing in a recently settled deal with the Swaters daughter. Good guy, a real car guy.

Apparently the new guys have renamed this thread the Chris Gardner Appreciation Society Testimonials Page.
Thanks guys. This clears up a lot about the case of Swaters v Kleve.

Two laudatory posts within an hour of each other, both by members with two posts total. Interesting.
