Look forward to seeing the progress. Is red the original color?

Was Ferrari stamping body panels back then? The numerous low spots seem plentiful for a stamped panel. Is that a fair statement?

My Body Shop ( I suppose because I did not supply the badge!) took my indent away!

But I'd imagine a dremel tool could find the recess....was that a previous repair you would assume???

There was some previous minor nose damage and whom ever did the repairs replaced the nose area skin, and either didn't know or didn't want to make the recess for the nose badge.

Was thinking the same—why so uneven?

Also, why does it seem the front clam is being sanded down while the rear undergoing a chemical stripping?

The car was repainted several times, as the nose had much more color than the rest of the body. The new generation stripper in Kalifornia is very weak, all the potent chemicals has been removed because of environmental issues, meaning the current stripper is a joke compared to before, so, because of the excess build up of paint on the nose, a sanding first, then stripper once there is less paint thickness. The interior color is black.

I believe you can't buy any paint stripper that works well now. They think they are protecting us from ourselves!

The Boxers were the last of the fully hand-formed production bodies. There should be (and remain/retain) the hammer marks around the inside edges of both clamshells where the aluminum is folded onto itself, where they close to (adjacent to) the center steel tub.

This car came in missing its two airboxes. After long searches with no positive results, we decided it was best just to duplicate. In the next few post, we will show you how they are being made.

**Notice the black original airbox in the background, this is being used for patterns. This piece is off another 365 BB here for service at our shop.

I’d bet its pretty hard to find skilled fabricators these days. Hopefully you also have a dedicated apprentice.

Hi Gary it all looks great. We met when you judged my 599 in Corning a few years ago.
Will this be a historical restoration or a slightly better than new resto? I see she's going to need an exhaust.

    Hi George,
The owner doesn't want a show car that he will be afraid to drive if he gets a stone chip, but rather a very nice street car of very high standards, possibly a 98 point car. The car was supplied with 2 rear resonators with three tips, but the size and construction, and tips are all wrong. Unknown as to the manufacture. I'll have to find a car with the proper set up to duplicate eventually.
