Thank you David, it came third in class it was July 1996, I have the FOC certificate here in the service history. I wonder what mileage it had back then...... You got me thinking, I will go and assess it... The chap in the background with the balding grey hair is the previous owner to myself... I will go investigate....
The green on black car was for sale at the same time I bought the red 400, I recognised the plate easily..... ...does anyone know of its whereabouts now??
My 412 has a Blaupunkt New York SQR 05, pretty sure it is the original, the first owner used the car for 3 to 4 months, then the car stayed in a Ferrari showroom north of France for the following 22 years till I acquired it.
my car in Biarritz, France 1989. i recieved this picture from a fellow F-chatter a couple of years ago Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice pics! Whilst on the subject of the 80s, here's two from Brocket Hall, the red GT4 is from 1988 (#17243), and the second picture with #30345 in the foreground was from 1989. I remember parking my dad's BMW in the space next to the 288 GTO. A black Countach had just vacated the spot. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
David, what's up with the roof on 17243? That looks like it could be one heck of a large sun roof. The driver's side rear tire also looks a little wonky, but maybe that's just the photo.
The 365 looks like it has a Webasto sunroof, a long folding fabric sunroof made by a British company Tudor Webasto, that were famous for such sunroofs in the late 70s and 80s. I haven't seen one on one of "our" cars before though. I think the poor quality camera (and photographer) were responsible for the wobbly looking wheel. There again, I do remember seeing a rusty Daytona and ropey 275 GTB at the event, those were the days...
Here's the line up from the 1996 Ferrari Owners Club UK concours Class K (Pininfarina 2+2s). The 365 GTC/4 (with the bonnet up) won the class, the black 412 was runner up (#79267), and the ivory 365 GT4 2+2 was 3rd (#17815). I don't expect the then owner of #79267 would have expected the car to have subsequently hit such hard times - it is now a red pick-up in the London Motor Museum with a Chevy Engine (see separate thread). #17815 was also well known from TV (see Youtube) and magazines. So if the car is off the road, why these pics from a concours - apparently from 2013. The plot thickens! IMG0092 ? 63657 ? barchetta ? StudioLine MediaCenter
Great posts Robert. I "only" have photos of about two thirds of all RHD 412s so will PM you when I've checked what's missing. David
Saw this car on Erwin's blog yesterday ("Ferraris can be practical"), and remembered I have a photo if it when it was painted red (mid-90s). Image Unavailable, Please Login
