Hi Guys, I have tried everything and read everything I can and I can not get my 360 to start. I think it is in the immobiliser as the red light is no longer flashing on the dash. So it is a 10/01 manual and I have had the car for 10 years. It has had its share of issues which I have always managed to get on top of. I have left the car sit for the past 3 months while I was away working and waiting on clutch parts. I have done this maybe 10 times in its life with no issues. So now I have checked the battery for charge, replaced both the red and block fob batteries. Checked all of the fuses. Tried to start with the pin. All to no avail. Does anyone out there no what it could be? All lights on the dash are OK, headlights strong, wipers, windows, everything works. No codes. No cranking over either. Please help, driving me crazy!
If fobs have lost sync it can take many, many tries to re-sync. Does car lock/un-lock and chirp when you disarm? If no response in any form I would try continue to try hit the fob endlessly...
If battery is 3 years or older replace it. 360s are known to have electrical gremlins when the battery reaches 3 years.
Just a wild guess, but I seem to recall if I forget to either disconnect the OEM charger or shut the hood, mine will do the same. Also if the fob is not chirping the alarm then I'd make sure to get that working first. When mine got out of sync once, I actually gave up twice and went back to the drawing board, but eventually persisted enough to get it to work. IIRC it took well over 100 presses but in any case way more than I would have ever guessed would be needed.
My trunk power switch was so corroded that it was no longer relaying electricity to the rest of the systems. I had it replaced and the problems with my car not starting went away. However my red alarm light was still functioning. Hope this helps.
Thanks argento. I installed a freshly charged battery and dont have a charger aystem connected to the car. I have tried closing everything including hood and still nothing. I have now taken out the siren and am in the process of cutting it in half to see if it has a damaged circuit board from the batteries leaking. If not i will do the battery upgrade and glue ot back together and see if that solves the problem. Both ecu's talk to my reader in real time so i imagine they are ok. I think its a bit of fingers crossed. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
Thanks Drestless. The battery is a Full River race battery and is only 1 year old. I have even tried other batteries and no luck. It just seems like the immobiliser is off with no power to it. All other systems and electricals work perfectly. Can hear the fuel pumps, lights are strong, dash is perfect so i am guessing it is the damn immobiliser. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
Hi ar4me. Sid you atill have an led on the dash? Mine is not on. I have probably tried the fobs both master and black 1000 times. I don't think it will sync mine like this. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
Thanks bigilo. That makes sense in that your car was needing good solid power but the switch was not contacting correctly. This seems to be the other way round. The power is good but the immobiliser is paralyzed and wont let it through. There is no click or crank starter or any noise at all when trying to start. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
Update: I opened the sealed envelope with the code for the car and attempted the start bypass procedure. Tried it 3 times and it still wont start! I think i may have to take it to a F mechanic and get the big reader put on it. They have said try the plugs to the siren and immobiliser as they can get a little corrosion. Tried that. The other thing they said is it can throw a hard code which can only be wiped by the ferrari reader. My normal reader is showing no codes. Baffling but will not give up. So is the starter relay getting any juice when you turn the key? If its a stick take a multimeter and connect it to the bypass behind the drivers seat. If no juice when you turn the key then its on the line to the starter...
Hey thanks VR Surgeon, that sounds like a plan. I just opened up my siren and it is completely melted and black with only a very small part of the green circuit board still green! One of the 3.6 volt batteries is reading .4 volts and the other is reading -.7 volts??? Does the siren control any part of the locking/unlocking? Because that is what makes me think this is all linked to the led light on the dash that no longer works. I cant unlock or lock the car which makes me think the immobiliser will not be powered up perhaps?
Did you try just unplug it, and see if it will disarm and start? Regardless, since you have to replace the siren board regardless why don't you just start with that. Note that some have used the GM unit (cheaper), but it seems you get slightly different functionality. I believe someone did figure out how to program the EPROM on the GM unit to duplicate the Ferrari functionality... Though, requires some knowledge and equipment.
Ah.. no unlock! Try unplugging the siren and then locking as above. Mine had a toasted siren but still unlocked/locked. If no response.. then take a look at the fuses behind the drivers seat. Find the fuse for the immobilizer and pull it out.. then put it back in. Also try unplugging and then replugging the connectors on immobilizer and alarm (under metal plate below the large red + lines).
If it's a F1 system the F1 ECU could be gone it's behind rear right panel , or you can check for a white wire going to starter and see if there any voltage going there when your in started mode if there no voltage then it's your ECU module
Yeah I tried unplugging and then plugging in again, all to no avail. Yes you are also right I will need a new board so may as well start there. I wont use the GM one as it is hard enough now let alone trying to make something else work. Thanks for your comments.
That's interesting that your lock system still worked with a toasted siren. Mine does not. However there may be different levels of toast. Some may just effect the batteries others toast the entire slice of bread! Check this puppy out! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Scuderia09, thanks for your input. It is a gated manual car so the check on the wire to the starter could be a good idea. It doesn't explain or help with the no lock/unlock or light on the dash. It is very perplexing as some seem to have no siren but lock, some have no light but lock, some have nothing like mine. I will certainly keep you all updated as I go through this issue and get to the bottom of it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
More pics of the ugly siren board! I will also mention that whoever had the car before me had already changed the siren as it is an '05 date and they didn't bother to put the black bag back around it that I have seen on some other cars. That is truly annoying. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You should check the siren, the car battery gives steady voltage to Siren that could be causing the battery to drain and cut off the voltage going to the anitheft module system for your no start and why your not getting no flashing red light, voltage to siren then voltage from siren to anitheft module if that link is broken your not going to get any flashing red light, if siren is burn then you won't get any voltage from the siren to the Anitheft module to make the red come on,
I think you are spot on acuderia! This is my line of thought, that the siren is obviously destroyed and it is not letting any power through. I will order the new one tonight from eurospares.co.uk and should have it by friday. It is 200 gbp so about 320 aussie plus freight. Will keep you posted. Thanks again for your input and also to the rest of the guys who are helping out, it is truly appreciated. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
Did you check the fuses? If it shorts out the fuse might have blown and that's why the module isn't working. Btw my original siren board looked just like that!
Yes i tried every fuse in the car with my multimeter and all are good and yes the boards look terrible like that. I will try the measures discussed earlier on monday as it is sunday here and my car is locked up in next doors factory. Will follow up and let all know if there is any progress. Thanks again.
