Good morning, I’m planning on r&r’ing the throttle bodies and tube connections to intakes today to clean up and inspect some weeping. After everything is cleaned and reconnected, is there a specific relearn/reset procedure? Thank you
If you're not replacing the TB's, then there's nothing you need do. If you're changing the TB's, then the throttle adaptation has to be reset. I used an Autel MS906 to do mine.
I would still follow the relearn procedure that is stated in manual after a battery disconnect Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Just for clarification, if we reset the battery via the switch in the front trunk the throttle adaptation also gets reset?
With the engine not running and the Ignition OFF, why do you need to disconnect the battery to unplug, clean and plug the TBs back in? Not saying you're wrong, just asking. I try not to disconnect the battery too often because it sometimes lead to other issues (reset emission monitors etc)
I am not saying you have to but if you want the ecus to relearn throttle bodies characteristics i would do it and then do relearn procedure in user manual Maybe i am the one off base here Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
2 years ago I changed my plugs and ignition coils. I didn't disconnect the battery. Car has been driving great ever since. Of course if I installed a brand new MAF, TB or the drive-by-wire accelerator pot I will do a re-learn. We're all learning from each other to keep them from going to the dealerships unnecessarily.
So i gather we are saying the same thing -- so we are both on the "right" base Trust me .. sometimes the dealer doesn't even do this smile reset - just let teh car adjust over many miles vs have a nice smooth idel after 10-15 mins
Battery off Battery on Turn key on to no start Wait 20 seconds Depress throttle to full on and back to off twice Start engine, let idle. This will help speed the procedure up It still may run rough at first but this will help..
+1 ..idle for 10 mins with nothing on (lights ac etc) if i recall correctly Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
I"ve replaced lots of throttle bodies no my 360, i've never reset any of them with any Autel, or SD2 or anything on my 360. it will reset itself
