New to the Ferrari world. recent purchased 1999 360 Modena. Service records indicate 30,000 mi. maintenance performed 5 years ago. Current mi. is 15,000 miles. Can you give me a guesstimate of what the cost will be at the next service of belts and tune-up. Over the Moon with the car! Thanks. Ed

You might get a better response in either the geographic or 360 sections (and remove your phone no)

If it has been 5 years since your last full service - you need a FULL service right NOW.

Without (me or you) knowing the specifics of the car and how it has been used for the past 5 years, I would caution against driving it a lot until you get it serviced.

360 service come at 3 levels:

Oil Change and inspection - every 6 months - about $300 (seems like a lot but it is a minimum of 1.5 hours of labor, 10 quarts of premium oil, and a dedicated filter).

Fluid Serive - factory says once a year but for most cars being driven only a few thousand miles a year, once ever 2 years is OK. In either case, you are way overdue. This is an oil change plus all other fluids (brakes/clutch/trans/PS, etc). About $1,100.

Belt Service - factory says once every 3 years (was once every 5 years originally). Most will say that a car that gets REGULAR (so the belts don't acquire a set) moderate use can easilly go 4 years between belt changes. Anyway, you are over the limit by a ways. Figure about $4,000.

So, you need a belt + fluid service. Dealers generally do the combo for about $4,500.

If you didn't have an inspection, figure another $3,000 for other problems they find.

If you break a timing belt, figure $20,000 to fix your motor.
