Since I got such great and helpful advices from all of you, I like to seek another advice. Now that I have decided on a 2004 Rosso 360 F1 coupe, I am considering switching its stock exhaust to a different one. I actually haven't heard the stock exhaust; all 360s that I test drove have Tubi exhaust which sounded great. But since I now have a choice, I am wondering what people think in terms of quality and sound of different exhausts, e.g. Capristo, Novitec, Ztek, Fabspeed, etc. Any other brands to consider? YouTube has some video clips, but hard to tell w/ those recordings.

Is stock exhaust that bad? Why is everyone replacing them? It would be great to listen to different exhaust sounds in person to choose. Do you guys in the Bay area get together with your 360s?

Thanks for your advice. I know these are very personal and subjective.

I vote for Fabspeed, it is the only exhaust that I am aware of that actually shown actual power gain with dyno result.

The stock exhaust is not that bad, not the best, but much better with high flow cats, that is what I have on my 360 right now. What I like about is that it is not too loud, I can drive fast without attracting too much attention.

I also have Timate Titanium exhaust, it sounds ridiculously good. Unfortunately, it was mad loud, impossible for me to enjoy the car, so I went back to stock.

Thanks for your input. I had Fabspeed for my GT3, and loved the sound. What I am looking for is not necessarily louder but perhaps deeper and a bit more aggressive sound. Maybe I should listen to the stock exhaust first, and decide. If I want a Tubi, anyone know where is the best place to get one? Should I consider a used one?

You could try reading all the other threads asking the same question first and then come back with something more specific

You really have to get out there and listen to a few to make up your own mind. The stock system is pants. It restricts the engine. Not only does it sound rubbish but with an after market the engine revs more freely and is more responsive. It really is a must for a 360. I have a tubi stage 1 on mine but have just ordered a Timate Titanium system to replace it. Photos on the Timate thread already running on here.

sport cat is really effective on a 360, it should be the first mod, you might not need to spend more on the muffler after that.

My recommendation would be to get onto Youtube and spend an afternoon checking out sound clips. Just search for 360 exhaust, there is a pretty cool one where you get to hear a Stock, then Tubi, then Capristo Level 3 one after the other. With upgraded exhaust you will see gains of about 10-15 hp. I have the Tubi on my car and I really enjoy it. I thought about a Capristo Sound 3, the loudest, but I called my dealer, Ron Tonkin GT in Portland, Oregon, and he said the mounting is terrible on the Capristo. Search some of the 360 threads and many others have experienced the same problem. I think the Kreissieg sounds the coolest, however, it is also the most expensive. Here are some options:

    Tubi Style
Ferrari Factory Racing exhaust that comes with the 360 Challenge Stradalle
    Capristo
    Kreissieg
    Fabspeed

Capristo has a package deal if you call the American Capristo Rep / dealer, the will give $1000 off if you order the exhaust, the dual sound remote control, and the high flow cats, they might have fixed the mounts by now.

I just paid US$1650 + shipping for my Timate as part of a group buy (min 5 pieces)
As a single purchase the price is US$2500 + shipping.

The timate system looks good and no doubt it will sound awesome, but that system without valves will kill you at low rpms. The resonance is to loud and will kill the elegance of the ferrari. I had the same problem with the maxspeed system and I solved it installing the factory valves into the new system tail pipes. I upgraded my system with a capristo system owned by Rob from vividracing and the system sounds insane and I can control the resonance with the remote valves.
My vote is to go with the agency power system with remote valves(can't beat the price) or any other system that have valves.
    Just my $.02 cents.

My CS came with an exhaust from a company called Harmony. It has a complete system from the headers back. I was a little skeptical at the outset, but it sounds like an F1 car! Absolutely brilliant!

I also have the stock system, but this one is too good!

You should consider a Capristo exhaust. They by far are made of the best materials (t309 stainless steel), quality, hassle free fit and most importantly sound. Most applications can be used with a programmable remote valve that adjusts the sound....really awesome!! Also there is a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the system.

Please feel free to call me for any further questions as we can provide you with whatever system you need.....www.universalautosports.com

I have the Factory CS Sport exhaust which has valves and a smaller lighter muffler box and is pretty bulletproof. Car feels quicker and sounds better than standard exhaust.

Congrats ! enjoy the best music out from your new exhaust; I had Tubi tubi and hyperflow cats on my ex-360 love it and I have same thing on my 430 Spider.. same good. Aftermarket Exhausts I personally think are much better than the stock one; especially on 360.

By the way, you miss one thing ; the Challenge Grill which is better looking and help to reduce the heat in the engine bay .... search for the thread discussing the Challenge Grill vs over-heating issue .
